My son has been accepted to both UCI and Santa Clara for engineering. Both are great schools but completely different. Does anyone have any information on which school will provide a better education and opportunities after graduation.

The advantage of Santa Clara is that it is right in Silicon Valley. That will provide a lot of potential job opportunities. I think UCI is the “better” university and offers more options overall. I would try to visit both campuses and make a decision based on money, interest, etc.

What about the hands on vs theory?

I have a similar question regarding Santa Clara.
My son is trying to choose between Santa Clara U and UCSD, UCLA, UCSB and SUNY-StonyBrook. (He’s been waitlisted for Cornell) He will be majoring in BioChemistry/Pre-med. Which university will give him a greater chance of getting into a top medical school?

definitely UCLA, he will have a great undergrad experience and the opportunity to get internships due to the prominent med school there

I know the Cal States use a more practical approach for teaching engineering vs. the UCs. I’m not sure where Santa Clara fits.
