For the Past year or so I have only been thing about UCs but today for the hell of it I went to brown, darmouth and cornell web site and should I even bother to apply to them.
My stats:

GPA: 3.95
Major: Sociology
EC's: I work at an elementary school and volunteer at the boys and girls club, PTK, some clubs and no honors program
I will have over 63 units at he end of this semester
I never took the SAT's (do I have to take them if tranforing to Brow, Dartmouth or Cornell)
Here's the kicker: I was not so good in HS, my GPA was somewhere around a 2.8
yes, 2.8

If you want you could throw in my chances for UCB or UCLA

so what do you think anything you have to say will be great! Thanks ;)

Of those three, your best chance is Cornell since they usually have good transfer rates. Brown and Dartmouth... almost impossible, but don't let my opinion stop you from applying anyway.

You should take those SATs, I think they are required for Cornell (I might be wrong). Also, those ECs seem a little weak... try participating on something related to your major, be it research or something.

Yeah. But since he's a junior-level transfer I think it will weigh less... I think your chances boil down to Essay/ECs. I just reread Cornell's admission requirements and they do not require SATs (I still suggest you take them though).

UCLA/Cal you have a terrific shot, although I must say Cal's social science department had a 25% admission rate last year. Nevertheless, with your stats, your chances are still pretty damn good.

Not to bring your hopes down, and i honestly hate it when people say that Cornell has extremely good transfer rates, which is NOT true. PropelGel, your chances are REALLY slim, considering the fact that they only accept 8% of their applicants for CAS (you're a sociology major and thats where they offer it)
