<p>Would writing about competitiveness and being driven by competition make me seem arrogant, too aggressive, or stand-off-ish ? Any help is appreciated, thanks.</p>

<p>It depends HOW you write it. If you write the essay that makes you sound aggressive and arrogant, then yes it does.
If you write it like competion is a passion of yours, then it would sound like you have your mind set on something that gives you an edge.
Just write it out, and then read it and see how it sounds to you.
I wrote mine on patience, so I made it sound a person who really has patience.
