UC Rejects post stats

I'd just like to second the emotional terrorists thing.

That is all.

rdtg: if you got in with over 90 units to UCSB you got any theories why didn't mexbruin didn't get in?? It's very very strange

I really don't know fei. I just calculated my units and I have 92 total. 14 are from AP classes. I was always worried about the amount of units I had, but my counselors said it would be okay and they called with several schools to check. I also called UCLA before fall semester started to check if I would be okay with over 90. I only took one class this semester so that I wouldn't go over 100 units. Mexbruin should appeal if he doesn't get into other schools, but I'm sure he will. And I am positive UCLA does not disqualify you if you have 90 units so he doesn't need to stress bout LA in that regard.

There's a possibility that AP credits are excluded when your hitting the upper limit of units.

I know for a fact that UCSB doesn't count AP units towards the 200 unit university cap. It's kind of a weird system, because they do count towards the 180 units you need to graduate.

Thanks for the info rdtg, really I'm only concerned about ucla. I was just hoping ucsb would admit me as a fallback plan... so much for that. I called Marti again (admissions rep ucsb) to tell her about the uc policy mentioned on this post that allows 100 units from cc and she said she was aware of that but that ucsb and particularly the college of letters and science is very strict about that. When I asked her if all the uc's were the same she "...well no not all of them" She did give me some hope that I'll get in to atleast one. Oh and by the way she said they do not count your ap units but they do count the units you reported in progress. Good luck to all of you and dont stress its not worth it. Not getting in to your dream school is not the end. Just be happy with the fact that you will get a B.A. somewhere. Atleast thats what I've been saying to myself this whole month.....sad huh?

interesting that they said that they don't count AP units...I have AP Calc AB and I skipped Math 3A in my college...that's 5 units...so that's 5 units they won't count?

AP units count towards the lower limit, but not the upper limit. The agreement on the Assist.org website goes over it well.

3. This agreement does not apply to students with senior class standing /b from accredited
**four-year universities and community colleges combined
. Applications from senior
class standing students will not be accepted.

a) Students cannot reach senior standing with only community college units
completed
. A maximum of 70 UC-transferable community college semester units
will be accepted toward graduation. Subject credit is awarded for community
college units taken beyond 70 semester units.

b) All UC-transferable units completed at a four-year university apply toward
the 90 semester unit limit.

c) *AP and IB units earned prior to high school graduation do not apply to the
90 semester unit limit. *

sweet thanks
