should we know what classes were supposed to take and then just register for them during orientation or will they tell us what classes we need during orientation
can we negotiate financial aid and if so will they ask you for 2020 taxes or will they continue to go off the 2019 ones?
UC’s do not negotiate financial aid. You either qualify for Federal and State FA or not. Merit aid such as Regents is non-negotiable also. Did you file the FASFA for 2021? 2021-2022 uses the 2019 income tax info. If there is a major change to your finances, you can file an appeal.
Random question…can I change my meal plan at any point during the year? I am considering signing up for the 2 meal/day plan only because I often miss breakfast. But, I may want to change that.
Are you living in the Residence Hall? According to the FAQ: You may change it during the first two weeks of the academic year only.

I know other UC campuses will let you change within the first few weeks of each new semester or quarter. I would contact Dining services for confirmation.
How urgent is this situation? My son just pointed out that UCR doesn’t have his final HS transcript and it’s due July 1. He previously thought he it was going to be sent to the college he specified when finishing things up before graduation, but now he’s not certain.
It shouldn’t be hard to get, provided the HS registrar is open and responding to requests right now, but I’m still a little nervous with just a few days remaining. Should he try to contact UCR and email his unofficial transcript?
The rest of this process has gone smoothly, and this is just a hiccup, but what do we do?
I spoke to undergraduate AO today, he said I need to mail an official transcript and it should be postmarked by July 1. No extension allowed.
Thanks for the advice. In my son’s case, the school had not yet sent them out, but has finally done so. We’ll have to check again to make sure.
I’m trying to decide if I want to join a Learning Community. I am a bioengineering major. I would like to meet a diverse group of people and thought I would opt out of joining the Engineering LLC. Do you guys think this is a good idea? Will I somehow be out of the loop if I don’t join the community? Will others in my major be mixed in with other res halls?
Hello does anyone know if for UCR if weekend classes are available or if there are late night classes available in general for any quarter? Will be working every weekday except weekends and will end mid afternoon. Coming from a community college I am unsure if it is the same structure.
Check the class schedule to see what options you will have. Evening classes yes. Weekend? Since you are a transfer and will be taking upper division courses, you will be limited on your choices and will need to be flexible. On-line courses might be your best options.
