Hi there guys, I have recently been accepted to both UC Riverside and San diego state as an english major. Which one do you suggest I pick? I haven’t been able to find anything much for either
Have you visited both schools? Did you prefer one over the other in terms of campus “vibe”, location, costs etc…
I suggest you compare the 2 schools curriculum for their English Major and see if one school better fits your academic aspirations. If everything ends up being equal, pick the school where you see yourself attending for the next 4 years.
Do you live in California? If so, you should know that SDSU is the definition of party school, while Riverside is apparently more boring than spending the day banging your head against a brick wall. Your choice though, just my two cents…
I definitely like SDSU better in terms of atmosphere but I’m mostly concerned about the quality of education in terms of my major

YOU need to visit both schools.
SDSU hasn’t been known as a party school for years now. It has a more social vibe given its school set up and SPORTS program. It is a very tough school to gain admission now and is very selective.
UCR is in the inland corridor. The ambience around it doesn’t have the best reviews, but the school itself is trying.
What do you plan to do with your English major? If you plan on being a teacher then go to SDSU. If you plan on going onto grad school then go to UCR.
