@kraka what were your stats and where did you get into?

I got in to UCR as a chem engineering major, and UCSC as a chemistry major. I have a 2.86 GPA, finished IGETC, done with all prereqs except 1 bio class because I didn’t know Riverside wanted bio… I had a decent amount of extracurriculars and good personal statements explaining my personal circumstances and why my GPA is so ridiculously low.

@BioEng, I read somewhere that they’ll release our financial aid packages by the end of April. June would be way too late considering you have to SIR by June 1 haha

Got in today this morning! 4/12
GPA: 3.1
Major: bio
pre reqs: i have 3/5 long term sequences done except calc which im taking over the summer
extra circs: Lots of extra circs from high school but none from last 2 years
I also went on a campus tour

All accepted students, I made a FB group dedicated for transfer students. Lets all join the page and get to know each other, and ask and answer questions!! Join this page: UCR Transfer Students 2013.

Accepted to UCR 3 days ago. Political Science Major, 3.5 GPA. Holding out for UCLA but I know that is a long shot.

Hey,for those who have been accepted where are you guys planning to stay. I heard the dorms fill up fast and they dont have an official transfer hall, so we are stuck with a bunch of freshmans.

@lemonadebox there is an official transfer hall. it’s located in Pentland hills dorms. which is suite style. and everybody is guaranteed housing your first year. I don’t know where you got your information from. lol

anyway, I applied to the glen mor student apartments. if not, then ill probably dorm @ Pentland or lothian residence halls.
I know a lot about housing and UCR so if you have any more questions you can ask me
I went to highlander day this past saturday and got a tour on housing btw. did anyone else go??

I went! It was awesome, totally exceeded my expectations and BCOE is awesome. I really love the campus I’ve visited other schools before, but I’ve never gotten a vibe from any of them that resonated with me until I visited UCR I definitely see myself here and I’m so glad I SIRed before hearing from UCI. I feel like I belong here, haha.

I applied for on campus apartments, but I called the housing office last week and they said they’re full. I applied to Falkirk, Oban, and the Plaza. When I asked if there was a decent chance of getting something if I waited, the lady sounded like she wanted to say no but isn’t really supposed to -_- so I’m not really holding out hope for getting anything on campus. I’m looking into off campus apartments but I can’t sign the lease until June since my admission is based on me getting Bs in two of my classes.

Anyone have a financial aid packet yet??? I’m still blank on growl.

Nope, still nothing for me too, but the people at Highlander Day said that they should be posted any day now.

Growl is actually down for me right now… maybe that means something?

I was finally accepted to UCR today. Psh.

3.17, Biochemistry.

Congrats!!! :)

I got accepted today too! All my stress is finally relieved; Low GPA + no calc with econ major, so UCR was the only school I applied to.

I was accepted a while back in early March but am also holding out for UCLA. If I don’t get accepted there, I’m still wrestling between going to school locally at CSUN or living on my own for once at Riverside. It’s a tough choice but I also heard that Riverside is more generous with its financial aid, so that’ll definitely impact my final decision!

As for stats, I’m an Art History major (Art History/Religious Studies for UCR) with a 3.6 GPA, all IGETC done by the end of this Spring and no TAG.

@ryanbentley oh cool I didnt know that. I heard pentland is pretty expensive compared to the other dorms. I think im going to apply for east lothian or A-i.

Are any of you guys still waiting to hear back from other schools or did you guys sir already, Im getting kind of impatient.

Anyone know if I will be rescinded for dropping a math class, it isnt required for me to transfer but was recommended - last section of calculus series.

@lemonade call UCR and ask. they’re very helpful and could get an accurate answer for you :)

still waiting on FA! ugh. so far UCSC gave me a very generous package. If UCR can match it or give me more I would be super happy!!!

For those of you who are asking about Financial Aid awards, I just received an email stating that mine is now available (received email at 3:56pm PST). I am able to view my financial aid package under “Award Status” on the Growl.
