I have been accepted to UCR for the undergraduate class of 2020, but I am in a dilemma whether to choose this school for business economics or should I take the CC path to get into a better school. I am leaning towards the CC plan because I can get the TAG done to UCI, or UCSB, or UC Davis, but my very ultimate goal is to get into UCLA or USC or UC Berkeley(my dream business schools) in the end of my two years. I also want to know that if I pick CC & Transfer, will I still be able to have a good network of friends since I will be coming in Junior year. My family also wants to save some money at this point because of job uncertainties that have come up but they are willing to send me to a UC or CSU. I have a few pretty good CC’s near me and I have talked to them about the transfer plan. Also the school I am at doesn’t have many CC go-ers, most end up at really good colleges or colleges in the middle of nowhere. Some even get into mediocre colleges but their locations are nice. I feel like I am pressured to go straight into a 4 year. CC seems to be frowned upon and everyone I ask at this school always tells me to forget CC go to UCR because of “college experience”. I am plainly just looking for a good education and at one of my dream schools. What path should I take? I am hoping people who have experienced this situation reply, or really anyone who wants to give input. Thanks!!
My D enjoyed the smaller CCC classes and by the time she got to UCLA and upper division classes, they were still small classes. Better access to the profs.
You can also try to transfer from UCR to another UC.
