When will they let transfer engineers know?
I’m holding out on UCSD despite the fact that I was already admitted to Cal Poly SLO.
The longer UCSD takes to let me know, the more time I’m killing in applying for on campus housing at SLO.

@LilBoosie It is a contract between you and UCSD. Your CC counselor must sign it for approval along with UCSD for it to be valid. There are guidelines that must be followed and a time limit as well.
Ulnk (University Link) is like TAG for low income kids (less than 40,000 per annum) or Veterans transfer students

It’s not just low income though my friend did the same thing (accepted) and her parents make waaay over 40K. Her parents don’t qualify for aid so they pay for her education full
Unless UCSD changed the guidelines & it’s only people with 40K income or less…

Do you think all Econ majors were included in this first batch? I still get this message.
@CeasarAnthony The UCSD rep I spoke with yesterday told me engineering majors will probably come out in the second or last batch. This first batch was mostly for those with high GPAs and/or Ulinks.

@vidaless this should be a server problem. there were other people who complained earlier today, as well of those who could normally log in. I also get the housing message, but on the housing tab. There shouldn’t be any problem.
So, Jacob’s School of Engineering applicants (unless they have mega high gpa’s) won’t hear back for another week if not late April?

The other school I was admitted to, my fall back; Cal Poly SLO, already put out their applications for on campus housing for transfers. However, they require you to “ACCEPT” their offer of admission by putting down the deposit. The longer I wait, the less likely I will get on campus housing IF IN FACT I am denied admission to UCSD.
I don’t know how ethical it would be to “ACCEPT” admission to SLO only to not attend the school in the fall IF UCSD does admit me in mid-late April.
Conundrum.

@ceasaranthony If u accept SLO’s decision, then get into UCSD later, you can always forgo the deposit, which is usually $100 or so? I’m not sure about what is “ethical” or not, however many people do that all the time. This often occurs when their is a waitlist and someone must SIR to another school. So I think you should definitely go ahead and SIR to secure housing. Better to play it safe!
@Hiitsnaomi hey!! I applied as sociology also and haven’t heard anything so that makes me nervous!! Did your community college have course articulations? My CCC has nothing except intro to sociology.

@Ellie64 my CC was exactly the same. My Counselor told me they care if you don’t take it when the course is open to take otherwise you’re completely fine ^^
I took more sociology courses and things that relate it as well
UCSD, SDSU, UCI, and UCR have all sent admission decisions, and I’m still pending for all of them. I didn’t think waiting would feel this heartbreaking hahah 
do you guys happen to know if transfer students receive a phone call from ucsd if they are admitted or not?
@Ellie64 from what people have told, they’ve only sent responses to those with perfect or near perfect GPAs, or those with other conditions such as that U Link, or whatever name is. I believe ‘mortals’ will receive responses later haha
