UC: Santa Cruz!

<p>Hi, I'm a senior anticipating the admissions process, which is coming up!</p>

<p>I'm posting to ask what the real deal is with UCSC's humanities?
I've heard nothing but Lit sucks, etc...but without any real real why. As I'd probally major in English, and have no desire to go to UCSB/UCD/UCSD, and probally won't get into UCLA/UCB, I'm really hoping the Engl Lit department (specifically early modern) isn't that bad.</p>

<p>What about UCI? It has a highly-ranked English/Literature department (at the graduate level, anyway).</p>

<p>Well, my parents live maybe 45 mins away from UCI...and I grew up in Orange county, so yeah my desire to go to UCSC comes from the location moreso than the acedemics (which is a bad thing =x).</p>
