UC to CSU transfer

Currently starting my second year at UCI, and Im thinking of transferring to SDSU, LBSU, or CSUF. My GPA isn't the greatest, but does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing, or an opinion on whether or not it is worth it?

Oh wow, you are truly in a very unique situation. I think we could better help you if you let us know your GPA and major. Just keep in mind that CSU’s give preference to local applicants, so if you don’t have the best GPA, then SDSU, and LBSU might be out of reach. I think you might have a good shot at CSUF since you’re a local applicant.

Yeah, I figured as much. Originally a public health science major but that didn’t turn out so great. My GPA is around a 2.6 but I’m switching majors to psychology this fall.

Well, You still have a year to bring up your GPA, as long as you have a 3.0, you should be fine. Just make sure to complete the prerequisites. Because of all the cuts, CSU’s really stress that applicants complete the major courses. That is going to be huge.

Honestly, if you can, maybe take your 2nd year at a CC and apply this fall. A lot of people do this and it is probably easier. You have time to get your GPA up though, but you’ll have to apply this fall if you stay at UCI.

Hi i’m curious if you did ended up transferring? i am in the exact same boat.

I’m a second year at UCR, I applied to SJSU, SDSU, and CSUN and I’ve already been accepted at SJSU.
