my ucla......

dont worry yidong...your 3.8 might nail EECS

hey guys...I dropped Chem 1A...Fortunately, UCLA does NOT require it. I just reported the changes and I hope they do not cancel my admission. I will be really shocked if they even ask me to take it in the summer or something...cuz itz not required. Im still worried...is anyone in this situation? :(

I am taking 20 units this semester and only reported 17 of them :)

is that a good idea? considering youre going to send in you transcripts and they will see the extra class....but im guessing 3 credits isnt going to make too big of a deal. Indie im pretty sure ur ok too cuz if its not required you should be fine.

That is not a good idea I agree, but that class is not UC Transferrable and I did not want to explain why I am taking 20 units, thought it may compromise my chances. I hope it wont cause any problem

As long as its not for UC credit you should be fine (I'm pretty sure?)

yes I think so too. As long as I maintain my GPA they shouldnt mind 3 additional units.

how many "sob stories" in personal statements, do you think, admissions officers come across when reviewing applications?

just a thought to chew on.

i'm thinking generic troubling situations don't really buy all that much sympathy because those people reading them must be pretty desensitized by now.

i agree. I actually talked to a UCLA rep that came to our school and they said that when reading personal statements they dont want the traditional stories that they have heard a million times over. what they want is a "i came, i saw, i conquered" and to tell it in a way that makes you seem like an asset to have.

omg! did you guys see this already? from the BERKELEY site

"The system is currently being updated and will return shortly.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for your patience."

eeps!!

haha i juss got that too. GL ALL!!!

I just talked to the admission office and they told me that the admission decisions will be posted this evening after 6pm

Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!! excited

It's going to take them 2.5 hours to update their site? I think it took UCLA about an hour after it went down...
Keep in mind, those people in the admissions office likely don't have direct contact with the sysadmin updating the site. 6:00 could just be the "conservative" number that they are told to hand out :)

Either way, the moment of truth is upon us!

I Got In To Ucb!

they're up!!!

Congratulations

YAY! I got rejected! =D GO BRUINS!
