Ok its loading fine now...but still pending...

By the way, those of you who applied to UC Santa Cruz are you able to see your application status link....cuz I can log in but the application status link does not expand.

indieboy my friend who applied last year told me that ucd notified him in early Apr, and ucsd notified him almost at the same time ucb notified him..so I guess we really hv to be very patient! @@

btw indie_boy what's ur gpa?did u complete all the major courses?
my gpa is about 3.8,but I miss the 3rd semester of physics and engineering course, that will hurt me badly i think, coz i went to ucla's webpage last night and they told me if i miss 2 or more lower division course i am UNLIKELY to get admitted.

yidong,
I completed: All Engineering Physics, All CS classes, All english (3 qtrs), few GEz, this semester i'll be done with all my math too...I have not took any engineering (circuit analysis, intro to engineering) but Berkeley is the only one that is requiring these two classes.

And my overall application GPA after the online transfer update (WIP update) (which is what they look @) is 3.81. But mine is a special case because, in the summer when I started CC I got a grade D in discrete maths and B in Ewrt 1a. After that summer quater, I have maintained all A. So only that one D is killing me. Now Im retaking and my Gpa will be higher.

But don't worry about UCLA and it's policy on the completion of lower div classes. I am pretty sure that they don't require you not to miss more than 2 classes. I think you are talking about Davis. Do you have the link?

yidong and indie_boy: What are your majors?

Computer Science and later on I might minor in physics (not sure yet but computer science for sure)

how many years were u in CC indie_boy?

At the end of this summer qtr itz gonna be 2 yrs.

so u plannin for three years total?

3 yrs, No way dude !

I applied already and this Fall i'll be in a UC. So total 2yrs spent at CC.

indie_boy: do you have to prepare for a UC minor at CC? or do you just declare it once you're at the UC?

Luba

I Talked To One Of The Mentors At Uc And She Told Me You Have To Declare Your Minor Or Any Changes To Your Major Once You Get Accepted.

I was under the impression that once you've picked the major it is very difficult to change...

Otherwise you'd have a bunch of people chosing a major in underwater basket weaving, and then changing it to something a bit more impacted... Not to diss any of you Underwater basket weavers, it's a very respectable major. :)

luba, I have not mentioned anything about my minor in my application, but I hope they let us pick our minor after we transfer.

Allena is right about the major. For transfer stuents it is very hard to change majors after transfer cuz we are expected to be done with our lower division classes. I think Berkeley does not even let you change ur major after transfer.

fei: my major is computer science & engineering for ucd, ucsd, and ucla. and computer science for ucb

indieboy: it seems you hv a better shape than me lol. btw did you complete the cs61a for ucb as well? yea I was talking about ucla, not ucd, here is the link:
http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/articulation.html YY

indie_boy: well actually i also took some ESL classes before and got very very bad grade(C's, and D's) and PE classes (F's). i know they wont take those classes but they made my transcript look ugly. and I hv 4 W's...2 B's in chemistry with the same instructor!

can i change my major after i got in?(from cs&engineering to cs) it should be easier right?

it depends on the major. if it's a highly selective major you can't( like business econ and psych, you can't change these majors (from or to).

yidong, I did not complete 61A because there was no transferable course from my college. And I think LISP interpreters are not usually offered in community college. But I did manage to complete 61B and 61C.

Thanks for the link man. I am relieved cuz they say "Applicants should complete ALL the required preparatory courses." If you check Assist they have listed the required and additional courses.

Dont worrry about your ESL classes because they do not transfer and they pay close attention to your major specific classes. So dont worry much.

Are you a US citizen or permanent citizen? In that case you are under normal admission decision. As for me, I do not have US citizenship or greencard, so it is more competitive for me.

Just to add to the data you guys already have...
Applied to:
UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSC, UC Davis, and UCSB
all decisions pending still as a transfer student
