UC Transfer Applicants - Come Join

the 405 freeway simply is the worst! damn LA traffic. takes hours to hit westwood.

Dusty, Vanpool sounds nice, unfortunately most depart UCLA at 3:30 or 4:30pm, which is when most of the Poli Sci, English and History courses commence, or end and is unfortunately during the beginning of rush-hour! My classes so far are all over the map, one at 2:00pm, and some at 10, and even more at 12:30pm. It's all a consideration.

Has anyone received their EFan for UCLA yet? I understand that comes in June-July approx. What is interesting is that I received a substantial scholarship for Cal, but have yet to receive one from UCLA. lol Oh well, would be nice, of course.....

Applemouth, you're so right. But if most people would get their butts out of the house before 7am, there's absolutely no traffic and I'm coming from Santa Barbara...lol. It's not that bad, you just have to know when to go. I was there last week and never went below 70 mph the whole time. So, perhaps that's not the norm, but I did that for weeks and had the same result. My father also travels LA freeways every morning and doens't have a hint of traffic. But then again, this is at 6am. If you were getting paid to work at a job you enjoyed, things like traffic wouldn't be such a big deal. I'm going to think of UCLA in that way.

hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that my appeal to UCB was granted. I'll be attending Cal in the fall of 2005 to pursue the major of sociology. Have a great summer everyone

That's great.....you probably took my place. ;) Glad I could help! Just kidding....that's wonderful.

Hey UCB_2, I'm trying to appeal to Berkeley also. I appealed once already and my appeal was rejected. I want to try again. Can you please give me some tips?? Thanks so much.

Hey UCB_2, I appealed to Berkeley too and got in to the College of Chemistry. See you there in the Fall! Go Cal!

Go bruins!!! lol

Time to resurrect this thread. Har har! Why?, you ask.

Well,
1) It would be nice to hear from the other obsessive transfers from last year who are now in their respective UCs; and
2) The new wave of transfer applicants (who will be applying to the UCs in about three weeks, as we all know too well) will just get a kick out of reading this!

How's everyone doing, by the way? :)

Hi all!

I'm applying to the following: CAL, UCLA, UCSD, UCI & UCSB

Major: Political Science / Legal Studies
GPA: 3.74 by the time I transfer
Credits: 64.5
EC's: part-time work @ a law firm, part-time general office work

Good luck to everyone!

Hey suzzieq, what are your stats? Also, what cc did you attend and how were your professors? ^=^

(Don't mind me asking, I am trying to figure what which cc to attend) Thanks

Ooooh....old school.

Yeah I seriously wonder if this year's group will be as rabidly obsessed as we all were. Seems so silly in retrospect (but that's really easy to say once you're firmly enrolled and active in your dream school). Good luck all.

i think you should start a new thread rather than reviving old ones.

Yeah I want to join in and wish this years group the best of luck!

Also since you asked biochemist12, I've been at UCLA for two weeks now and so far I love it here!

zup every1 ? ...i log in to CC today after several months and bam i see our good old transfer thread back in action ! how are you guys doing ? howz all your classes ?

Haha - I wanted to bump this thread so that i doesn't get archived ever. I'm pretty sure it was a running joke in this thread that we were going to keep it alive until - well, until we graduate (hopefully) in two years.

It's good hearing from you guys! Allena and allie, my bruin friends! :) And indie_boy! How's La Jolla?

Manjot,

I think my gpa was around 3.6 by the time I transferred. I attended city college of san fran. Great Chem profs and chem program, but I can't say the same for math and physics =).

quick question, does having an aa degree limits me or helps me on getting in to a uc?

It has no effect, CollegeDopOut.

hey biochemist12, La Jolla is a pretty nice area. The weather here is also great. Howz Berkeley treating you ?
