I have overcome some financial hardship and the death of my mother which I did explain in my writing, but am worried about the gaps and lack of EC aside from working.

Thoughts? Most concerned about Cal and UCSD! I appreciate your input.

My major GPA is 4.0 by the way, but my Stats and Intro to Soc classes were both retaken after taking W’s in them initially (Stats retaken as an honors class).

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major With that GPA, it looks like you’re in to Berkeley and UCLA. I didn’t bother looking up the other schools, but you can. I doubt your gaps in your enrollment/Ws are going to hurt you, you’re obviously a strong student with an extremely impressive GPA.
