^ good luck with the appeal, I’m still waiting for the sb decision

wow still? they got until thursday to tell everyone, so anyone want to trade places if you got in and not going? lol

^ oh i just foudn out today, nope, didnt’ make it but it did say that it will guaranteed admission for fall 2008 if i meet the requirements.

I got admitted to UCD, UCI, UCSB, UCSC, and UCR already. Is anyone planning to attend UCD? Good luck everyone!!

hey cloy i got admitted to ucsb so i will not be going to ucd =.

so what are you going to do nancie?

awww sixshot1, good luck then!

hey dragondawg,

I will be staying at my current CC and reapplying for the Fall again. At least this time around I can apply to UCLA and UCSD, which are one of the top3 colleges that I want to go to. UCSB is the 4th UC that I would like to go if I got accepted, so yeah i’m not too disappointed that i didn’t got in, b/c i would have prefer la or sd, or even irvine over sb. But yeah if SB is where you want to go, go for the appeal and wish you luck.

For me, I think i actually have better chances for the fall anyways. I can probably bump my GPA higher to like a 3.5 or something by then.

i’m in the same boast as you nancie, in the fall in can apply for ucla and ucsd in november, though i doubt i get it, i been to ucla a few times but didn’t really get a feel for it, and sd i heard is boring, so i’m probably going to appeal sb, thoughi’m having some trouble getting recommdenations, plus appeals getting overturned are low anyways. I’ll probably have to apply in november again, hate the application process, it so long, but at least i can use the same personal statement, but i heard their changing the open ended question. SB ruined my plans, i got into the two schools that weren’t my first choice and really didn’t want to go to

so next fall is like 8-10 months away, oh the wait

^^ haha yeah, but at least it won’t feel like it is a rush and can have more time to enjoy before reallying going to the UC which the courses may be double hard compare to cc i think. Too bad i reformat my comp and all my essays that i have saved are gone -_-" I would have use them again since I don’t think some of the UC really read them all they really care are the prerequ done or not and your GPA.

but yeah definitely go for the appeal, it doesn’t hurt to try at least htey know you really want to go there! good luck with that.

yeah i am applying online again as i’m typing this, i selected ucsb, ucla, and trying to rank san diego’s six colleges in the order i perfer, i read muir was the best or something, yeah i’m not sure they red the personal statements either even though i spent a lot of time writing and revising. Its just shame that i took all those summer classes and had to do the personal statement, application, and submitted on the same day as the final i had. And it was all for nothing, SB was the plan for all that tp transfer during winter but instead i get into the other two colleges that i apply to that didn’t want to go to, go figure. But i’m not doing so well on a class right not that i might have to drop that would leave me with 57 transferable units. I hate how in some cc non transferable units are more units but are worth nothing. Like the non transferable math is like 4-5 units. But i think i got one teacher to write me a letter of recommendation,

oh and sb said they are already getting some appeals, go figure, usually about 500-600 apply and they let in 350 but this time over 1000 people applied and they give inly 280 spots

Dragondawg, I suggest that when ranking colleges, you look more at the GE’s you need to finish for the individual colleges. The college system is mostly catered towards those living on-campus, and since transfers have very little opportunity for on-campus housing right now, it doesn’t affect you much.

(I used to go to UCSD and came in as a transfer)

yeah i was just looking at the GE’s for ucla, they want a lot more than most other UCs, anyways how did you like ucsd

Is anybody going to UCI for winter?

Just wonder, I’m applying to UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCD, and UCSC, all under Economics major this month for fall 08. My gpa is 3.4, i’ll be finished with IGETC by Spring 08, i’ll have my AA by then as well. I’ll be finished with ECON 1+2, as well as Stats and Finite math but I haven’t done Calculus yet which is a prereq, which I won’t be able to do until next year. For those who got into the UCs, whatre my chances?

depends on what UC. For UCLA, you have zero chance of getting in with out all the prereqs done. UCD/UCSB on the other hand might be a little bit easier to access. I say you in for both of those schools unless your one of the unlucky ones who they deny for no apparent reason.

ah, anyone going to UCSB this winter?
