UCAS Recommendation

So I'm all set with my UCAS app except for the recommendation portion, which is proving to be a challenge.

As I understand it, the system requires my teacher to email the recommendation to me, then I upload it. Or, I can give my teacher my login info to upload it, but, even then, I would be able to look at it when I make the final payment.

I'm not sure what the convention at most UK schools are, but at my school, teachers won't show students the recommendation letters they write.

What can I do? I was thinking of asking the college whether my teacher could just mail the recommendation instead. Would that work?

You can’t mail anything for UCAS. It is all in the online form. I am not entirely sure how it works when you apply as an individual, as I applied through my school, but you still shouldn’t be able to see your recommendation. If you’re really stuck, ring UCAS. It’ll be slightly expensive, but worth it rather than messing up your application.

I’m wondering the same thing.

Anyone have any advice? I’d rather not see my rec, but it seems applying as an individual I have no choice…
