Yea, I got that email too. So are we waitlisted? This would make sense if they sent rejection emails. My friend who is on the waitlist got the same email.
I also got the WL off appeal email. Told my parents that chances weren’t zero so hopefully that’s true.

Yeah idk, that is really weird wording to use. Kinda seems like they’re lumping us in with the waitlist, at least in terms of when we’ll hear about final decisions. Also, it sounds like they’re full at the moment but that they’re expecting some people to drop?? Do we think they’re referring to wave 3 waitlist admits, or other people? 'Cause I thought there were very few spots left and wave 3 was supposed to be small anyway. If there’s no traditional left, FPF is filled, and GE is potentially cancelled, then where are they thinking those spots will come from? People who have already committed but are backing out? Isn’t that a negligible amount? I guess it’s good that there’s still a chance, but it seems like the probability is so low-- they’re saying there MIGHT be more spots, and even if there are, the chances of any one of us getting picked are slim to none. Just seems like they’re dragging this out unnecessarily and giving false hope. I wish I could just be done with it, you know? I almost want to withdraw my appeal because I’m not sure if I would even go to Berkeley over my chosen college at this point, but I also know that I’d hate myself if I didn’t see this through after waiting so long.

Thank you for appealing to UC Berkeley. At this time we are unable to offer you admission to UC Berkeley but in the coming weeks, there is a possibility of additional spaces becoming available. We anticipate notifying all students of their waitlist status by the end of June, 2020.

By the wording of the email, I think we got into the first ever appeal waitlist boys and girls. Congrats to being pioneers!

Okay, other thoughts:
Do we think maybe them referring to us as having “waitlist status” was a mistake? Like maybe they copied and pasted the waitlist email and then forgot to change that part? Just an idea. Everyone is kinda frazzled because of the pandemic, so maybe they overlooked that detail? Idk I’m just spitballing here. ?
i think they are expecting a few spots to open up due to international students backing out if unable to get visas. And as a result they are moving appealers onto the waitlist to fill out any avaliable spots.
I got the same email too. maybe they’re checking if international students can even come for fall semester, because if they can’t, wouldn’t that open up a lot of spaces? either way the chances of getting in off this is close to 0% lmao i wish they would’ve at least rejected some people so we could know they’re actually considering everyone remaining.
