I know that some UCs cap applicants’ weighted GPA. Does this apply to UC Berkeley and UCLA? I have looked in other threads similar to this one, but can’t seem to find any definitive answer.
I’m asking because my school offers a limited number of AP classes, as a result, my Weighted UC GPA is 4.33. Some of my friends who go to different schools have GPAs as high as 4.6-4.8 and it makes me really nervous.
UC’s like UCLA/UCB look at 2 different UC GPA’s:
Capped weighted with 8 semesters of UC approved Honors/AP/IB or DE courses.
Fully weighted is with unlimited semesters of these courses.

You will not be penalized if your HS does not offer many AP classes. As long as you have taken a rigorous class schedule among your peers, then you should be fine.
Thank you!
