Hi, I just got admitted to Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BA) at UCB and Biochemistry (BS) at UCLA.
For what I know, Berkeley is more prestige and has a better rank for biochemistry. However, some says that BS is more desirable and help you to go to graduate school and find a job.
Which one do you guys think I should choose? And why?
What is your career goals as a Biochem major? Which campus do you personally feel at home?
I’m planning to go to medical school but still not really sure yet. If not I might take biochemistry again as a master degree or an MBA degree.
BA or BS will not make a difference. Both schools are prestigious so there is no bad choice here. Go with your gut and pick the school where you think you will excel academically along with considering your happiness socially and the most affordable option.
