UCB vs UCLA vs UCSD

Hi, sorry I'm a new user, but so far I got regents to UCB, UCLA, and UCSD and half tuition to USC. I applied for Biology to the three UC's, and Biochem to USC. I love to have fun, but I want to have a good platform for med school, but I'm stuck between those 4 right now, and I need some help please!!

How big is the cost difference between the UCs and USC after regents? Does cost matter?

USC is rumored to be a very preppy, rich school, but the UCs are going broke and because USC is private and has some money i would go there. You will just have to visit them and see. pre-med majors generally do bad at berkeley for some reason. i think it’s just hard. Go to the most cost-effective one. That’s what is most important if you want to afford med school.

Cost is not so much of an issue, but it’s not like I want to break the bank if I don’t have to. I’d be willing to pay $50k a year for say harvard or yale, but not usc. The difference between the UC’s with regents, and USC with half tuition comes out to be around 9k. I just don’t know if I should choose the private school route or the public school route (less personal and such), and it’s hard to decide between the three UC’s. I am tempted to go to Berkeley more for the ranking and the fact that I connected pretty well with a professor there that interviewed me, but I’m also tempted to go to UCLA/UCSD because it seems less stressful, and I hope to come out with a higher GPA to get into a good med school.

Note that you do not have to major in biology to do pre-med – the pre-med courses can be taken alongside any major. Consider your other academic and professional interests when choosing a major.
