Hey guys! I would really appreciate any help. I've pretty much narrowed down my college choice to these three great schools. I got into the major/college I want for all of them, and they each gave me aid/scholarships so that I would pay about the same for each school. I live in LA County, so UCLA would be the closest, but I don't mind going further from home. Also, I visited all three schools and I liked all of them! What I think will be the deciding factor is which one will allow me to put myself in a beneficial position when applying to med school. Thanks in advance for the advice :)

I like UCLA personally and UCSD has a great biological sciences program but you can’t go wrong with any of your choices. Congrats!

Go where you’d be happiest and able to do your best. Med school admissions are most interested in GPA and MCAT scores.

For me, Berkeley was a great break from the SoCal bubble.

Okay, thanks! I definitely think I’ll have to visit them again. I’m just kinda skeptical about berkeley because I heard it’s really hard to get a good gpa there?

Yeah, UCSD and UCLA are cakewalks…

Well yes, I’m sure they would all be difficult, but I was referring to curves and grade inflation. I really don’t know though, I was just basing that on some things I’ve read on these forums.

The differences between these 3 schools are insignificant compared to the most important factor – you. Your effort and desire is what will get you into med school. So pick the one you most want to attend (the 3 schools have very different settings and atmosphere) instead of obsessing over slight differences in what each campus might or might not have. In the end if you work hard enough at any of the 3 you will succeed, and without that none of the 3 have any magic dust that will bring success anyway.

Choose the school you’d go to if you weren’t doing pre-med.
