UCF Accepted 2014 (Official)

I hope y’all @Tahmed @brittanybp get in because my stats are very close to yours, at first I thought my GPA was 4.1, but something happened and its actually 3.83. I’m thinking we’ll here from them soon.

I believe I was in the first round of acceptances (9/14/13). I am not sure how often they admit …I think you have to email them about that residency question. From what I have seen posted on CC (last year) you have a better chance of being accepted the earlier you apply.

When you guys say your GPA, are you referring to your UCF GPA, where it is only core classes and you get 1/2 a point for honors and 1 point for AP or your high school’s weighted GPA where every class counts and you get 1 point for honors and 2 for AP?

Yeah, that’s how I calculate it.

Your UCF GPA?

For UCF Im like 90% positive that your state of residency does matter for admission because it is a public school, therefore florida residences get priority.

Friends I have a question about calculating the UCF Gpa…
I read that they use core credits - 4 english, 4 math, 3 science, 3 ss ,2 Foreign language and 2 academic electives. I have about 6 math credits in highschool…can I pick the best 4 grades to calculate the GPA? or will ucf do the calculation internally?

For the ppl that just got accepted , did u guys send in the residency status info? Because they sent a letter for claiming residency right after u submitted the Application . So did u guys send that letter in ?

@Tahmed, those are the specific high school course units required for admission as a first-year student. So, at a minimum you must take 4 math credits and 2 foreign languages.

However, GPA is calculated using all of your “academic core” courses, so it would use all of your math credits, but not any for PE or basket weaving.

"Your GPA is recalculated based on the academic core courses (including English, math, science, social studies and foreign language). UCF uses a 4.0 grading scale, and also awards additional quality points for any weighted courses within the academic core. Courses marked as Pre-AP, Pre-IB, Pre-AICE, and Honors are given an additional .5 quality point.

Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced International Certification of Education (AICE), and Dual Enrollment (DE) courses are given 1 additional quality point."

for those waiting to hear, like us, Parchment shows who has gotten in and the percentage chance to get in (our service to send in transcripts that lots of schools use) Most of the kids who have been accepted are from Florida with a few from NJ. It showed percentage of his chances to get in.

Thank you Gator88NE.
