i got accepted into both, but now am contemplating which one to go into. i could probably do ucf's 7 year accelerated partner program with usf, where id have to get like a 3.5 gpa first year, 3.6 second, 3.7 third and then get a 30 mcat score. at ucf i would probably major in molecular biology (as it is required to if i want to be on that 7 year track), chem, bio, or maybe even psych. at uf i know the prestige would be better but idk if it would be too hard/if its "party" school reputation could be a problem. therefore, would you think ucf honors or uf would be better? i appreciate all opinions. thanks.

So you're wondering if UF is more of a party school than UCF? Yeah, then you definitely shouldn't go to UF.

i said i was wondering if its "party school reputation" would be a problem. i know its a party school. im just wondering how it would conflict with med. and whether uf/ucf honors would be a better choice.

But you have to realize that UF is undoubtedly the better school with something like a 300 point better SAT average, a much higher GPA average, and a better overall student population. I go to UF now and have a 4.0, and I do work pretty hard for it, but I'm fairly certain that if I were to go to UCF, the 4.0 would be several magnitudes easier. It sounds to me like you want the easier school which is UCF. People do party at UF just like people party at UCF. Is every class you go to a party to the point where you learn nothing (which is what I can only imagine you're asking)? No.

What ?

It's clearly hyperbole used to emphasize the point that his question is stupid. What I was saying is that classes are not parties, you can party at your discretion, which is true of any school. He is clearly only asking which school is easier as UCF and UF are not even in the same league academically.

Alright. All I want to know are opinions of each school. I know I have to work hard anywhere, I'm just wondering how each place is and what the difficulties are like. Btw "Calculus" how is pre med at UF, is it too competitive? Would your recommend UF for pre med? Thanks.

UF Premed is pretty competitive at the upper levels, like Organic I and II. A lot of people are premed, but General Chemistry I and II (especially II) and Biology I and II (especially I, but also II) weed out a large group of people. Evidently, Calculus I also weeds out a large group. Of course, Organic I and II get the job done of deterring a lot of people from medicine/ changing majors. I'm currently in Organic II with a grade in the upper 90's and I can tell you that a 4.0 here is no easy feat. In terms of studying, I definitely have a social life, but I do study usually about 3 hours on Fridays and anywhere from 4-5 hours to 10-14 hours on weekends and weekdays depending on my workload for that week. I've never really had a problem staying ahead of the curve, but I know some people that have. Also, the physics department here is killer, but I took the Honors Physics route, so the regular way might be easier (though I've heard it isn't). Honors Physics was harder than any other premed science classes (even Honors Organic I and II).

I've learned a lot here and have had a lot of fun. I'm going to take my free public education to hopefully a top 10 medical school in the near future, so I would definitely recommend it.
