I got into both UF and UCF and cannot decide where to go! I’ve never really liked Gainesville, and I’ve always loved UCF and Orlando. I like UCF’s campus better, and my major is good at both schools. I’ve been saying I’m never going to go to UF, but now that I got in, I just feel torn. Like I said, I like UCF better, but UF is a better school, better more recognized sports teams, its just more reputable and prestigious, which is the only thing I like better! Where should I go??

Don’t go for the sports teams- go for where you feel most comfortable. If campus spirit is important, then UF has the advantage. And remember, it’s not where you start off, it’s where you end up. Keep that in mind if you are thinking about grad school or future jobs, and see which school fares better.

ucf all the way, although we may not fill our stadiums all the way ucf does fill our hearts. student section at football games are so fun, and you get in for free! ucf has also become a lot more rigorous in its education throughout the years youll hear a lot of people say “we’re an up and coming school” cause its true! black and gold all the way!

Just pick whichever school you feel is better for you I personally love UCF, so that would be my pick!

Honestly, UF would be better. Better student-faculty ratio; better overall academic performance; better academic reputation; better sports experience; better research opportunities. UF is a Phi Beta Kappa university, unlike UCF.

Being a UCF alumni with a statistics BS & industrial engineering MS, here is my position: if UCF offers you some special opportunity that UF does not, for example a full scholarship or admission to honors program, then definitely go with UCF. Otherwise, depending on your major, UF will probably give you more opportunities in the long run. The disparity is perhaps smallest in engineering.

To use a simple analogy, think of UF as the 6-time champion Michael Jordan and UCF as 0-time champion Lebron James. UF has proven success. Still in its infancy, i.e. currently celebrating 50 years of existence, UCF is a great university with a huge amount of potential. Given its current trajectory, I think UCF will be an elite university, e.g. AAU membership, with the next 10-20 years.

UCF, it seems you’ll feel more at home there. That’s a big factor in your success in college and the relationships you build

UF why… its considered a “public ivy”. UCF is a large school that in the long run is actually going to be having some problems juggling the student body size and the finances. UF has way more prestige than ucf because ucf is sort of a “newer school”
Huge classes in all of your years at ucf and uf … which degree is better… UF.

Ahamdanilbhs, I see that you have posted a number of very negative posts regarding UCF in the last day or so. From your other posts on CC, it appears you were not offered admission due to your stats. If you are successful at Seminole you should be able to transfer in to a FL public university. I think your posts lead people to believe that you are or were a student in the engineering program at UCF. Please clarify because I know many alumni and they have fantastic jobs in the industry. The engineering program was one of the first established in the college and is very well regarded. I know for a fact that the engineering interns are sought after and well paid by local companies, such as Lockheed Martin. Best of luck to you as you begin your college career, and though you may be disappointed with UCF right now, your student status at Seminole gives you standing to participate in UCF events, so I hope you make the most of it!

I was offered admission
