@futureauteur you don’t have to send scores but you can if you for some reason want to, in which case you’d get a t shirt.
My daughter had her ACT sent officially and she has yet to receive a T-Shirt. Maybe you have to send more than one test?
@JBStillFlying thats what I’m thinking because i sent my SAT scores and haven’t received anything. @sunshine232 still confused but thanks for the response
I only sent one SAT score. I just sent it because I was already sending to a bunch of other schools, thought I might as well send a score to UChicago. T-Shirt isn’t anything special, but it was still a nice surprise. I live in the Chicago suburbs so maybe that might have had an effect on when I got the shirt.
^^^yea i live in georgia so maybe thats why. ill keep you guys updated lol
Also from Georgia, though mail usually comes quick being in the Atlanta area.
Early application deadline ended a week ago. I wish everybody luck!
even though i know we won’t hear anything back until mid-december i literally still freak out at every letter or email i get from uchicago lol this is so not good for anxiety
Ugh I’m just willing the days to go by as fast as possible. I really want it to be decision day already, but I’m scared of the decision lol.
applied early action through questbridge already had my interview although I hear interviews don’t impact decision much
ugh ugh. I hate the fact that they made ED… now I have even less of a chance EA lol. What day do decisions come out again?
wait do we really have less chance if we applied EA??? @NikkuWadde ughhhhhhh. and i heard like mid december but idk what specific day
Well it makes sense @futureauteur. The creation of an ED application will draw people away from the EA pool. Chicago would be more inclined to accept ED because they’ll have close to 100% yield, rather than EA, where people might turn down Chicago for another prestigious university
that does make sense ughhhhhhhh @NikkuWadde just gotta pray we’re strong enough candidates they’ll be willing to take a chance on us! best of luck
I applied through Questbridge and received a call from the Dean of Admissions today telling me that they loved my extended essay and were wondering if they could publish it on their website along with some others they enjoyed. He also told me that I was admitted, yay! Good luck to everyone as they gear up to get their decisions next month. I’m still waiting for my official Questbridge decision on December 1st. Here’s the email he sent me after we got off the phone:
Hi Olinka
As Dean of Admissions, I so enjoyed the opportunity to chat with you and let you know (a little earlier than most J) that you have been admitted to the Class of 2021!!
Congratulations and welcome to the UChicago family!!
It will be a few weeks until the official decisions are posted for all applicants but please do reach out if you have any questions between now and then…
As I mentioned on the call, we all loved your essay and look forward to including it as a sample of our “favorite and fun essays” page we hope will go live next week. So we have your official permission for our records, would you and your mom please respond to this email and confirm that we can use your incredible essay on our website (without identifying your name, of course)?
See you on campus next fall!
Happy Holidays!
Jim
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Do you know if they’re gonna do more of those calls?
Wow, that’s great!
Lol guys so I’m applied EA and I just got contacted about my interview and its on Monday (which seems super close to the release date for application decisions… so I sense a deferral in my future sigh). Does anyone have any tips? How do your guys’ interviews go?
Also congrats @olireg02!
@jasonfan1234 Thanks! i’m assuming they’ll be contacting/have already contacted other students who’s essays were chosen to be featured on their website soon. He didn’t mention anything to me though.
I doubt they’ve had enough time to look at every application yet. I’m assuming questbridge applications were looked at first since we get decisions on Thursday, so I wouldn’t stress if you don’t get a call. Im sure all of your essays were great! (:
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I don’t know you but Im so proud of you! @olireg02 Can’t wait to read your essay!!
@NikkuWadde I haven’t even scheduled an interview (because I heard they really didn’t have much bearing on decisions) so I wouldn’t freak out. Also, a lot of people have been accepted without an interview so don’t rule yourself out!
Does anyone know if they have reviewed EA applications yet? Like is there an order? I assumed it might be Questbridge, then ED, then maybe EA or is it just random?
