I keep hoping I’ll get a likely letter somehow… That e-mail made my heart flutter
Has everyone received the study abroad email? It probably has nothing to do with our application process.
Yup everyone got it
@crossovercuber I chose the same one
I chose a past prompt: why are you here and not somewhere else?
I feel like I wrote about a cliche topic, but in an extremely unique and intriguing way. If I get in it’s probably because of that (I have average numbers, 33 ACT (superscore), no SAT 2s, 3.9 unweighted GPA, one unique and fitting EC, the rest are decent with some leadership)
Did anyone get a big envelope from the university with a letter and a big poster of the university with the city in the back? The letter was written in October but I got it today so I don’t know what to think about it.
@icybal99 U Chicago is known to court for applicants in order to keep their rankings up. They send out T Shirts, books and lots of other stuff to so many high school students and even teachers, I wouldn’t give the big envelop one second of thought
Do internationals receive posters and other merchandise too? Or is it just the domestic applicants?
Internationals will receive them, to a lesser extent.
I got a poster some months ago, and a letter or two, but mostly I’ve seen a flood of e-mails from the University.
Lol I have posters, a t-shirt, a UChicago book, a little art project, and about 389734923 emails xD
They don’t mean anything
One would expect posters to notice that one of two featured threads on this subforum is titled “Does University of Chicago Send Everyone Lots of Unsolicited Mail or Just Me?”
What would you guys say are the chances for a recruited athlete with 35 ACT, 3.7 UW GPA/5.05 Weighted GPA, 800 Math 1 and 2 and pretty good extracurriculars, recs, etc
If you’re a recruited athlete, those academics are more than adequate. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in.
@KdotTrack Those are nice stats you got there. The make or break factor will be if the coach wants you in the team
I decided to ask my own question for the extended essay.
I have an interview scheduled for this Wednesday! Will it be too late? I know most EA applicants have interviewed already and I’m worried that my interview info won’t reach the admissions office in time for them to consider it.
Interviewing doesn’t actually do much for/against applications right? I didn’t sign up for one
If you can demonstrate fit and converse intelligently with your interviewer, it’s probably a boost, albeit a very minor one.
It can’t really hurt an application unless you show up in Bermuda shorts/half a bikini or spend the entire interview talking about grades and SAT scores.
Not interviewing will not hurt your application.
Nice nice. What are you guys thinking of majoring in? I think I’m gonna go for Physics or math
I selected 1) Chemistry 2) Neuroscience 3) Environmental studies (possible minor). I think double majoring in chemistry and neuroscience would be neat but also horrid in workload…
