I apologize for replying so late. It was not a legit LOCI in that it included no updates; instead, I just reminded my admissions officer of my presence as well as my resolute interest in UChicago. I might have annoyed him by doing so, but his reply seemed nearly identical to what I received the first time.
Couple hours ago, this instagram account named “uchicago2025chat” requested to follow my personal account, and I have no idea how they acquired my username. The page seems to be run by current UChicago students to provide the admitted students with the c/o 2025 group chat.
Should I take it as a good sign?
If it was your phone number instead of your instagram account, I’d think you got in, but I have no idea how UChicago would get their hands on your insta. Did you tell anyone you applied, and then they added you through this account?
Has to be neutral to good! So be optimistic!
No. However, I do follow the UChicago 2025 public account (where newly admitted students post their bio) so maybe the admin of this private account added me from the public account’s “followers” list? But how and why would they do that? I’m assuming it was a mistake for the sake of mental serenity but also hoping it does mean something. I will try asking once (or if) they accept my follow request back and let you know.
Yup. Best of luck to all of us!!
Honestly, that account following you most likely doesn’t mean anything. Accounts like that are run by students and then they go through popular accounts (like uchicagos insta), follow who follows them, and hope that they follow the that student run account. Not to be downer, but that’s most likely the situation.
Figured. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
AO replied DS’s LOCI said they will not started to look into waitlist pool until May 1, so any movement from waitlist will not happen until early May. So she advise everyone to commit to his/her ideal school first.
The as stated from other source, the waitlist is not ranked.
This is not surprising news.
Yes, not a new news. So the pulling from waitlist phenomenon since April 1 like last year is very likely a one time thing.
The AO told us the same time frame last year, but apparently they started early.
We will see. Now everything is in God’s hand.
Anyone get any notifications from Chicago today?
We may have gotten something but dont know how to take it.
What was it you got?
I’m very interested into what you received. And no, nothing yet for me.
Basically we got a note from Admissions saying that they were about to make recommendations from the waitlist and if my s21 was still interested.
My son had sent his LOCI before Ivy day, FWIW.
Think I’m headed for the “nightmare” scenario.
That sounds positive A note? Like an email or?
Did your son receive the note from his admissions officer or the office? I have been in constant touch with my admissions officer but haven’t received any notifications regarding my admission.
Email from an admissions officer.
