No shot at uchi,Dartmouth, and uPenn

10char bump

Good scores but your ECs are a little weak. Make sure you get good recs and qwrite killer essays, then maybe you’ll have a shot.

bump bump bump

You need to do the math. Your math SAT is 10 points above median and your CR 30 points below. 6% were not in the top 10% of their HS class. Good but not over the top ECs. Low income/first generation is a tip, but not a hook. Doesn’t sound like you go to an underperforming school which is where the real tip would come in.

My guess is there is no way you will see an ED acceptance so I would use it at a school where it will be an advantage to you and try Dartmouth RD after raising scores.

I keep hearing that the ECs aren’t “colorful.” I mean, i don’t really understand…what should I have done? Gone to zimbabwe and handed out mosquito nets?

um, yeah, that’s what i did.

bump bump bump

lol @ stephen

I don’t think ECs are necessarily the issue so much as class rank. I know kids (including myself) who got in unhooked with a similar level of ECs. But the not top 10% may very well screw you over for top school in which that is really one of the key admission factors, and I would look at your SAT score as a possible weakness as well.
