<p>HEY EVERYONE…there’s a Admissions is having a google hangout tonight at 6 pm central. I’m sure half the questions will be harassing them about the release date haha. </p>

<p>While we’re talking about our applications… I’m mostly nervous about the essays haha… All of your essay topics sound so good!! I think my teacher recs were really good. My AP Chem teacher’s rec was great - he made me cry hahaha he’s so awesome.</p>

<p>Wow convenient! Normally I’d have soccer practice but today it was cancelled so I’m probably gonna watch it, if I’m not busy studying for my calc final tomorrow. This may be a silly question but will it just show up on the google plus page?</p>

<p>So a comment from a parent about the posts I’ve been reading from all of you: first, this sounds like an exceptionally nice and supportive group of students, intellectually curious, modest, and passionate about this school. Second, you all seem to ‘get’ Chicago and what makes it what it is. Getting it means that you were able to talk about why you want to go there in an authentic and convincing way. This is very important. No one on this thread seems to have just applied for the sake of applying. This leads me to believe that you are all serious candidates and contenders. Next, don’t second guess yourselves on your essays. There is no right ‘answer’ to the essays although there are several wrong ones (bragging about sexual conquests, crowing about others’ failures, preening). Everything has been/is being looked at in your applications and remember that they’re putting together a class with all the machinations that go into that calculus. I didn’t go to Chicago, but my parents worked there and it was a community that is very much still in my blood–which is why I suggested my son take a look. (He did and loved it like all of you and is waiting for the next week to get here). It’s a unique community but it’s not the only place where you can or will be happy, so keep that in mind.
