UChicago ED2 Class of 2025

Does anyone know the forms section ? Thanks

my forms section is still there

my forms section is still there

Will everyone disappear or just certain people?

@hongkongbanker where did you get those numbers?

Again, you will not be tipped off one way or the other by what happens to your portal. The only way you will learn about your status is by the decision letter which will be released tomorrow afternoon.

From my high school counselor who had a good relationship with the UChicago admissions officer in charge of my area.

@hongkongbanker - thank you for providing this valuable information. Follow up question: did your counselor have an idea as to how those 3,000 apps were broken out - say, new applications for ED2 or deferred EA/ED1 who switched to ED2? Just thought I’d check on that. It doesn’t matter from an admissions standpoint but it would be helpful to understand how many are new vs. deferred who switched.

Again, thank you.

I’m sorry I don’t have that information. I’d imagine the majority of applications in the EDII pool are from people who got deferred/rejected from mid-tier ivies like Columbia or Penn. I say this because most people I met in college who got in ED2 applied ED to Columbia/Penn and sometimes Yale. It is unlikely that the 3000 apps consist of many people who were deferred ED1, as most applicants know that the ED2 pool is more competitive than the ED1 pool.

I also don’t think it matters whether the app was originally deferred EA or new ED2, as UChicago admissions know that the school most likely was not your first choice. But I would imagine the proportion of new ED2 apps is larger than the proportion of deferred EA, as many students panic when they get rejected ED elsewhere and apply ED2 here.

So on another thread, there was somebody who posted about the post-admission early decision agreement in the upload materials section. I have it; does anybody not have it?

@hongkongbanker, how do most people know that the ED2 pool is actually more competitive than ED1? But that’s a very good point you make about relative chances by that point (implying that it might be better to move on if you were deferred ED1). UChicago has indeed rolled over some ED1’s to ED2 (deferred with an invite to switch), and anecdotally I’m sure a few are accepted every year that way but not sure it’s many. Seems better to be a fresh app would be my hunch, but who really knows; in the end it comes down to how you compare to the pool of applicants. Also, I didn’t realize so many accepted ED2 were deferred from another ED school! Figured they were deferred from HYP.

What thread? Good or bad?

Nobody responded to the person in the other thread, so I mentioned it here

Do you have that forms section with green click? Mine is gone. I cannot see the Ed form for display

Under forms it says (green check mark) 12/30/2020 2021-2022 Student Financial Aid Worksheet

if you’re talking about the checklist with ED form, transcript, test scores, etc., mine disappeared yesterday

yes. Only few people disappeared

I think everyone’s is gone - I don’t think it’s really much of an indicator

some still have the green check forms

So I think it only disappeared if you submitted the CSS instead of the worksheet, and didn’t submit the optional test scores through the UChicago portal
I highly doubt it would be a “sign”
Since I did the worksheet, and submitted my test scores again through the portal (because I didn’t see it in the portal like i did for my other schools) I still have it
