This is what it said. Again, 99% sure it doesn’t mean anything, but for the people who want to know what the email had.
Thank you for your interest in the University of Chicago! Soon you will receive additional information from our office, but in the meantime, we encourage you to visit our website, take a virtual tour, and engage with us on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to learn more about the UChicago experience.
Situated in Chicago’s Hyde Park community, UChicago offers a rich campus life in a big city setting. UChicago’s 5,900 undergraduates are drawn to theoretical inquiry and open discussion. They enjoy small classes and spirited debates where they are free to break down disciplinary barriers and frequently explore research and coursework across the academic spectrum. With a student body that is comprised of over 40% students of color and spans all 50 states and over 100 countries, our community represents a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and geographic backgrounds, promising vibrant debate and fair discourse. This atmosphere of open inquiry—shaped by the Core and distinguished by an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration—attracts exceptional students and faculty from around the globe, including a total of 92 Nobel laureates, 52 MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellows, 25 Pulitzer Prize winners, and 278 Guggenheim Fellows.
Every UChicago student is supported by our community—by their individual academic advisor, career advisor, College Housemates, professors, and our global community of scholars. Through over 400 student organizations, thousands of research and internship experiences, and a close-knit community in the College Houses, UChicago students have access to a uniquely empowering college experience. Students frequently celebrate different cultures and communities through more than 85 cultural, religious, and LGBTQ groups, and explore the extraordinary opportunities in music, theater, politics, commerce, and neighborhood life in the city of Chicago.
UChicago is committed to bringing the brightest thinkers and boldest leaders to campus, regardless of their financial background. Every admitted student will have 100% of their demonstrated need met through financial aid.
For the health of everyone, UChicago College Admissions has suspended campus tours and information sessions. We hope to reopen on May 4, 2020. Visit our UChicago-at-a-Click page to learn more about UChicago through virtual tours as well as informational videos and podcasts. Our office is also offering virtual information sessions. Please visit our Tours & Visits page to register for a session.
Sincerely,
Grace Chapin
Deputy Director of Admissions
The green click check forms section can be a sign. Mm
what is this
i don’t even think the deputy of admissions is named that for uchicago. must be an informational email if u have an account
Before your upload section, the form display
I dont think they send likely letters to ed2 applicants, but it does seem like one
Under deputy name? What’s the full email
i don’t see any forms thing besides my deferred form
Is there a green click?
so is it a good thing to have the green check list or a bad thing
You can ask the ED1 accepted people?
It’s almost certainly fake/doesn’t mean anything… everyone, including me, loves to look for signs, but unfortunately, none of us will know until the very moment decisions are released.
Did you sign up for anything? Grace Chapin Is the real email
Has there been any update to the release time?
Grace Chapin is the Deputy Director of Admissions.
Guys this e-mail was sent out last year during regular round too. It does NOT mean you have been accepted (or denied). UChicago even came on the thread about this last year and confirmed that it does NOT mean you’ve been accepted. It’s simply an informational e-mail sent to those who have expressed interest. Please, calm down and wait till later this afternoon (4’ish pm CT is usually when decisions are released).
Link ?
Yeah, but UChicago doesn’t track that (ie interest, which was your original post). So if you completely blow off the e-mail, no big whoop.
Please go check the RD 2020 thread if you need a link.
Earlier this morning I found that the drop-down list for “Change of plans for next year?” disappeared.
