Can someone help me translate a RGG room number to a location/floor? I will PM you…
@booklady123 yes
Ah, the secret code . . .
@JBStillFlying - Be merciful with your mirth! We’re excited.
@HydeSnark sent you a PM
@booklady123 - you are using a much more intelligent approach to get the answer than I did. Someone zapped me a blueprint of the dorm, then we figured out the “key”. I must say though - it was kind of like being on a treasure hunt. Quite fun.
so what house is the fifth floor Campus North?
@JBStillFlying where does one acquire a blueprint? Also, I’m too impatient/busy for a treasure hunt at the moment, but I admire your gumption.
@Booklady123 - have no clue where it came from but was online. Perhaps lots of UChicago archives are being digitized and made available over time.
Nevermind he found out he is in Yuen
502 - 531: Behar
537 - 568: Yuen
573 - 599: Thangaraj
They should get a house assignment along with their room assignment, though.
Our S did find his House posted on the same tab (Room Information) as the dorm assignment.
Is the 537-568 the middle tower? Not the tallest, nor the shortest?
Yep
How about Dugan?
Any info on a floor plan for a double in North?
There is a picture of a Campus North Double on the website, I think you just mirror it. Online, before they updated the residence hall website this summer there were some floor plans and that is what I seem to remember.
Our incoming freshman got I-House double. Didn’t I-House used to be all singles? Did they just cram extra bed into all the singles?
I read I-House closed for renovations summer 2018, anybody know if the closure was in preparation for class of 2022 overflow?
Very disappointing to be so far away, particularly for winter. Our son was in Max 2013-2014 which was a tremendously convenient location for getting to dining halls, quad, library and Ratner.
When they raise the bed, Amy idea how high under for a cabinet?
When he stayed at the admitted student overnight, my son was in a dorm that he’s not assigned to (being deliberately vague so as not to throw his host under the bus) and his host said the rules on appliances were not strictly enforced. Host had a hot plate and coffee maker and said it wasn’t an issue. Granted, this was a dorm that was built within the last decade so the wiring may be considered more safe, etc.
Does anyone know if BJ is similarly lax on rules regarding things like coffee makers or kettles?
