Am I able to upload Supplemental Recs to my U Chicago account? I saw on the website that I can, but then I saw that I also can on Common App. I already submitted my application before seeing the supplemental recs part on Common App, so I was wondering what my course of action should be.

By the way, I haven’t yet received my UChicago account information.

I had my on-campus interview before submitting my application, will it still appear on my UChicago account? If so, where?
If it will not appear on my uchicago account, should I email someone about it?
Thanks

I was wondering the same thing this morning until I checked my email. You’ll receive something with the subject line “UChicago Account Registration”. I wouldn’t worry if I were you, it should be sent soon!

I’m a high school senior from India, and I submitted all my documents (or so I would like to believe) - Common App, Writing Supplement, ISFAA, etc. - by October. The problem is that, ever since I activated my account, the only feedback available to me is - “We will open up full credential checking abilities later in the month.” Which month is the admissions office trying to indicate? And will I get enough time to submit any supplementary material that may be required? I’d be really grateful if you could answer these questions.

This may be a stupid question, but I just realized I didn’t put my name on my Uncommon App essay. Is that going to be a problem? Can it still be identified as mine, since it’s part of my Common App supplement? Aaak…

Don’t freak out if you don’t have a UChicago Account yet. We are still processing and downloading a lot of material and rolling out these accounts to students. Do check your Spam filter in your email account, as the UChicago account email is automatically generated by our website and is classified as Spam in some email clients.

debater1996, we would prefer that your supplemental recommendations are submitted directly by the recommenders; they may mail, fax, or email these to our office.

tips1660, we will have a record of your on-campus interview in your application file; your on-campus interview report will not appear in your UChicago Account but you can rest assured that it will appear to us when we read your application.

truepassion, we are still receiving material from EA applicants and will announce the number of applications we have received once everything has been processed.

mashoo, we are still processing a lot of the material that has come in to our office and will let you know if anything is missing once we have processed that material. We hope to be able to do this this month and you will have plenty of time to resubmit anything that is missing.

EnoughNerve, we will be able to match up this essay with your application very easily, as it will all have been submitted under your name in the Common App.

PS: I’m a lady! My name is Grace. As much as I think Ms. UChicago sounds awesome, you can feel free to say “Hey Grace” or something similar with your questions :)

Thanks, Ms. UChicago for all the helpful infomation and kind responses. My D just called admin office as you instructed and solved her email issue regarding UChicago account. :)

I’m currently living in the United States, but I’m a citizen of another country (Philippines), and I’ve been living and studying here since 2007. I’m on an H4 status and my parents and brothers live with me and such. With this, should I apply as in international student, or as a regular student? This goes with financial aid as well.

Thank you for all your help Grace! I have a question about interviews. If there is an alumni in my area, will I be notified by email or my UChicago account? If there is not an alumni, will UChicago let me know or will I forever be left wondering? And is there a cut off date for interviews?

I am still uploading and preparing some dance videos to put in my arts portfolio. May I know if they are going to be viewed by arts (dance) professors, or general admission staff, like you maybe?

tigerscratch, you will be considered an international student for financial aid purposes; we will certainly know that you are living in the US and will make sure our domestic admissions officer for your current area reads your application for the best evaluation of your performance in that context, however.

mermaidgirl, all students are able to express interest in alumni interviews in your UChicago Account; if there is an available alum in your area that person will contact you directly (we are also able to offer interviews by phone or Skype if there is not someone in your area). We are not able to accommodate every request, but do our best to match as many students as possible with interviews!

doremi, admissions officers look over these supplements and consider them to the best of our ability; many of our officers participated heavily in dance, music, etc (we even have a n admissions officer who has a master’s in music and is a professional singer in his spare time!) so rest assured these do not fall to untrained eyes! When possible, we will forward material to faculty with expertise in the area (music, visual arts, research, etc); this is unfortunately not possible with dance, as we do not have dance faculty members, but we will certainly give your work our full consideration within our office.

Hey Grace! I am one of the student you met in Alaska. I am also a questbridge Finalist! Really looking forward to visiting the campus( hopefully as a match student). What happens after you are matched to UChicago?

I haven’t received any information about a University of Chicago online account. I applied EA through Common App and sent the tax forms through the mail, so is the account still necessary?

Hi Grace, thank you so much for answering all our questions! I’m having a bit of a dilemma…I have a theatre supplement ready to send in, but my piece uses a swear (t*ts) once. I’ve read so many different opinions on the matter of swear words, so I was wondering how UChicago feels about them? I love the monologue and think it’s very well-written, but I don’t want to offend my counselor.
