Hey guys, I have one important question. UChicago’s Model UN team is ranked number 1 in North America; 6 team members will graduate this year. As I understand, all universities have “micro needs”. Is it safe for me to assume that UChicago would want to continue its success in debate? And if so (my application is almost entirely dedicated to debating/Model UN/other cultural debate platform), do you think it would somewhat, or possibly, increase my chances o admission?

@spiderwoman I wish I had an answer to that. But right now I am wondering if I was deferred because they really wanted to see more or if they deferred me for stats sake.
@Marisa58 Thanks! You should join the UChicago 2019 Applicants FB group…the people ther help out a lot and lessen the anxiety. I hope you get in…us deferees have got to stick together!
We’re all in this together
Tunisian Applicant needing about 60k$ to pursue education at Uchicago. So if there is anyone stressed, it should be definitely me
Approx. 52 hours till decisions are released, wish I could sleep till then…Where is Maleficent and the spinning wheel when you need her?
US colleges are more tolerant toward internationals when it comes to test scores because 1. Their first language isn’t English 2. They did not take college prep. So as an international, you win some you lose some. Don’t try do discredit our struggle to credit your struggle. If there is anybody that should be stressed out, it would be every single one on this thread because 1. Our first, foremost, and maybe only option is American universities. You could very well go to one in your native country. 2. Top-notch schools like Uchicago generally expect a 2250+ and 3.8+ GPA from American students, while internationals get in with 2000+. @AKAKHALEDBEST
@AKAKHALEDBEST I’m an Argentinean applicant needing the exact same amount of aid… So yeah Im nervous too. Best of lucks . I just read that decisions are out the 23? not the 13? someone please confirm?
@pwil7070 tell me about it. I nap 5+ times a day. Hang in there people!
Sorry my mistake, the website states late march… So when are we hearing?
@render142 Friday evening (march 13th). Good luck!
@spiderwoman OK. Now I’m officially about to faint. Any specific time?
nope. It says late in the afternoon :https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/
Hope I could help. @render142
EA decisions were out late afternoon, remember they are in the central time zone. You will receive an email saying the status was updated. I was reading last years waitlist thread…I felt really bad for them. They were all just holding out hope until May. Excuse me while I have a panic attack.
Uchicago is one of my dream schools. I have studied there before for several summer programs. The University of Chicago’s student are funny, kind people. I really hope I get to see more of the university. And hopefully decisions come out. Fearing another rejection.
@letsgohelpme1 I’m rooting for ya! I agree, the student body is one of my favorites, and I’d love to be a part of it.
Ah only 2 days!! I really just want to know if I need to plan a visit to Chicago soon. I hope so!
Less than 48 hours everyone!!!
I just want to wish you all good luck and know that you are all gonna go somewhere great. Even if it’s not Chicago, even if all you ever wanted was Chicago, I know you will be perfectly happy no matter what
But either way I have my fingers crossed for all of you!
thanks @gossipgirlxoxox, right back at you
