UChicago RD Decision Date: March 23, 2012

Less than 10 days! ;)

@nondairycreamer- me too! The wait is brutal!

And then there were 9.

And now they are 8 …

We should have a daily countdown…8 is such a huge and small number at the same time!

Eight days will not go by fast enough. That’s more than a week agh. I need the 23rd and an acceptance along with it.

I wonder if UChicago has the heart to reject me on my 18th birthday…

A week guys, a week from today :D

Haha I wonder who else is checking out this thread while they should be doing work. :D

Only one more week until I see my Fate laid out before me. This is the most stressful time of my life. Good uck everyone. let’s shoot for a 100% cc user acceptance rate.

i’m almost certain that i’ll be rejected but i’m still hoping of course, i love uchicago :)

It’s weird sometimes I feel like I have an 80% chance of being admitted (perhaps anxiety does give one rose-tinted lens) and sometimes, well, just slightly under 9%, which will be this year’s admission rate for RD according to UChicago. This wait is absolutely grueling.

Hmmm, I must say I didn’t expect UChicago of all places to get this carried away with artificially lowering their acceptance rate. 9% is absolutely ridiculous.

I really hope they aren’t rejecting qualified applicants simply to increase yield and/or to lower their acceptance rate. I understand that UChicago is gaining popularity but there’s no reason the acceptance rate should be 9%, that’s a stellar leap from last year.

When I applied it was 30%…

I think the hiring of Jim Nondorf in 2009 signaled a desire by the UChicago board to re-commit to reviving the health of the College. They have built up all aspects of undergrad life in the past few years and these changes, small and great, have added up to a marked change in the College.

Also, the switch to the common app for the Class of 2013 also greatly increased the absolute numbers of people applying to the College.

Add all this to the world class faculty that has always been an integral part of UChicago and there’s your 9% admit rate.

Shootastar, I definitely know the feeling. Right now I’m going through a phase where I’m even reading the course catalog compiling classes. But as you can see from my other posts I don’t have a lit of hope for most of the time.

I found a recipe to make Shamrock shakes…I will be eating one on Friday. :)

Ah. So nervous. Ever since the 19th of December I’ve been trying to let go. (I was deferred.)
I’m sure I’ll be rejected. But, fingers crossed anyway.

Acceptance after being deferred? I can only hope…only one more week of waiting

6 days. Less than a week. One school week. So soon. good thing my state has spring break now… or maybe its a bad thing because there isnt much to stay occupied when everything school related is closed.

I have no reason to be as optimistic as I am for UChicago… but I am… oh well. crossing fingers
