I’ve been looking more into UChciago and they have a graduate public health program but they don’t explicitly have an undergraduate public health major. Some of their social science majors look similar to a public health major. Which one would be the most similar to public health?
It seems to me that since UChicago does not offer an undergrad in public health, and public health is at the intersection of science and policy, a major in science and a minor in social science or vice versa would be the way to go. Employment in the field usually requires a masters degree.
There may be an option in terms of pre-professional preparation. Check this out and scroll down to the health professions section:

I can’t speak to the science side. Among the social sciences, a degree in Public Policy or Geography with a lot of relevant courses and (if PubPol) a concentration in health policy seems like the closest thing.
I don’t know if we have such a concentration (though it seems likely enough) as details in the catalog are sparse. I do know most of the health-focused PubPol courses look at the issue from an economic perspective, not a medical/epidemiological standpoint.
