UChicago vs Other Schools

back to the point of this thread:
uchicago vs. columbia
i'm not totally sure what i want to study other than something leading to a career in business law. all i know for sure is that im not interested in science.

it doesnt take much for a place to be cleaner than LA, and i can see how chicago would be considered "cleaner" than SF becasue tehy corner all their bums on teh south side, while SF lets them roam and live wherever (its a source of constant debate here). Chicago is definitely, definitely a beautiful city, one of few places ive been to on earth that i would leave san francisco to live in.
i dont know much about san jose, in terms of its hygiene. But the mere thought of San Jose (aka Los Angeles North) is enough to make me shiver.

Ah, SF is worse than SJ, hands down.

in terms of what?

Los Angeles is a giant suburb. San Jose is the same thing. They had a shot, with the silicon valley thing and all, but they blew that, and they're now stuck with a worst-class city.
When San Francisco hit a gold mine (litterally), there were people who knew what to do about it, so we arent left with such a teeming ****hole of strip malls and yuppies.

now, in terms of how clean the streets are, parts of SJ are much nicer, i do not doubt this.

San Francisco feels so crowded and claustrophobic. Don't get me wrong- I like SF more than SJ despite the general smell of urine because certain parts of it are more alive. But the worst parts of SF are much worse than the worst parts of SJ, in terms of cleanliness, not in terms of 'character.' I speak superficially. But personally, my favorite is just Berkeley.

btw, i like SF people more than SJ people.. they're interesting. I like the farmers market near the Asian Art Museum, and I like the culture a whole lot more then SJ "culture." Nothing against SJ... SJ just has a lot of nicer/cleaner parts than SF has.

yeah, on my way home from school every day, i walk down Van Ness (the street with city hall, the symphony, the place where the UN was founded, and the state building) and the whole damn drag smells like urine. Its not teh city's fault that all the other cities in teh bay area treat their homeless like crap, so tehy all come to SF. And luckily, newsom is starting to stop giving out handouts so that the homeless leave. As soon as the homeless situation is taken care of, SF will be one of the cleanest cities around.

Also, SJ seems nicer because it has more residential areas. I live in a part of SF where I have a front and back lawn. there are no homeless here, everything is very green, safe and pretty. There are more parts of SJ that are like this than SF, but in SJ, they dont have any citylife to get in to.
