Hi,

So that's the dilemma I encounter. I got UChicago(I'll study Economics) and Oxford (Economics & Management). I am an international student. I am looking forward to ibanking (or, something in the field of finance) as my career after graduate. They are both good schools. UChicago has a reputation on its economics department while Oxford has a world wide reputation. It is a hard decision to make for me.

For UChicago, I've heard people say that (1)it is too theoretical so not THAT highly valued by ibanks (2)2 years of common core kills people (3)It has more chance for the city of Chicago (which is not comparable to the NYC Wall St, or the city of London). (4)Too rigorous academics and competitions (5)not highly represented in Wall St (5)some of the course are not taught by professors.

For Oxford, I've heard people say that (1)Harder to get into Wall St than UChicago (is that true?) (2)Easy to get into London ibanks but HARD for foreigners (3)it is good that Oxford has no cores and only have economics-releated course for E&M students, and it is only 3 years, but is the economics there really as good as Uchicago? (4)it is good that Oxford has professors teaching and has professors tutor, but are the professors as good as Chicago's? (5)

I have no personal preference to either school, and no preference to NYC Wall St or London - I just want a good job that I get highly paid while I work super hard. For a better career, which school would you recommend?
