UCI # 41 in USNWR University Rankings

Ok Isee your right. But I dont like your tone. It sounds as if your frustrated at me. and I dont see any reason for that.

Which brings me back to me ORIGINAL question. How are the Pre-med curves at UCI? I have heard from some people on this forum that UCI gives the most A’s out of all the UC’s. Beating everyone else by a small margin.

If i remember correctly the person said:
“All the UC’s give around the same percentage of A’s but UCI gives a little bit more A’s than the rest”

Well a person on the internets said so! well it must be true. The fact of the matter is almost no one is going to be able to really compare all these schools because almost no one has spent substantial time at all these schools.

That being said, I’ve talked to some graduate students at UCI who went to various other schools. The general vote was that students earned the grades they deserved based on the standards (although they admitted the standards were a little low, but these were graduate students! they were the best of the best so take that a grain of salt). Also, these were chem majors, not biology.

I wish I could sticky the answer to this. there’s always some premed who asks about comparing grade distribution or something:

 1. the grading at uci (or most other UCs) are not unreasonable. don’t worry.
 2. If you’re worried about the grade distribution/competition within the major/classes, you’ll get eaten alive by the competition for a spot in medical school.

A brief thought experiment:
Do you really think there’s such a strong correlation to where you go to school? As in, if you went to Davis (for example) you could do so well and get offers to every top medical school whereas if you went to Irvine you would be struggling to graduate?

No i didnt think that.

UCI and Davis are very much equal in the quality of students that they accept.

your digging yourself deeper in the hole, surgeon.
