UCI acceptance to those with higher gpas first?

Personally, I love my essay. I guess my essays help me get the supplement questionaire from LA because other things on my apllication are kinda below average

Ya good luck with UCLA. Can I ask what your essay was generally about?

I always read that UCR/ UC Merc are the easiest UCs to get into. Is it reasonable to believe that if you didn’t get admitted to UCR/Merced, you have no chance on the rest of the UCs?

yeh, so I think I am more likely rejected already by UCBerkeley.
but I started my essay in beginning of Sept. I hate it so much, not that I hate my essay but I hate the work and effort I had to put in. It took me over a month to get the solid final one.

@Tprk no not necessarily, because UCMerced and UCR are not holistic like other UC’s ie: UCI UCLA UCBerk and maybe more. These colleges focus a lot on the essay as compared to UCR.

To TprkTork…I think so because both are the easiest.

ok, so I am an immigrant. I moved here 5 years ago,so I wrote about my first day of school and my first physical science homework
Another one is about how I am a big sister and that I don’t live with my parents.

@Chain yeah the second essay is probably really powerful that looks great for UC’s. I think your in at UCI :)

This year the admittance rates will be so much lower that what they were last year too because so many more people applied this year due to the fact that no SATII were required.

@chain, I don’t think thats true. I think it is about the same. Taking the SAT 2 didn’t prevent people from applying, they would just take it cause they had to.

Also, most people apply to more than just UC’s and many other schools like to see the SAT 2’s

I applied to 6 UC’s so I am expecting to get in 3 or even 2.
4 or more would consider wonderful.

I really just want UCIrvine. I would go here over UCD or UCLA or UCSD or UCSB. It is my favorite UC

I don’t know that’s what I heard.

Honestly, I had been to San Diego twice and on my way, I had to pass Irvine and the city looks just nice, quiet and peaceful. I like it too in terms of the environment and the majors. I chose Business Admin and Busines Info Management for Irvine. Sadly, LA only has Business Econ.

UCSD is so boring though. I live in San Diego, and UCSD is a commuter school. Most people live at home and it is just lacking in school spirit. I really don’t wanna go there. A great school in SD that is a good school with a good experience is USD

Oh I live close to LA, so that’s why LA is my first choice because I don’t want to go far.
but I like the fact that UCSD is composed of 6 different minor colleges.

Once I get my Irvine acceptance (If I do that is, I’ll be satisfied)

Is Irvine you first choice?

Not necessarily, but I would be happy going there! I already got one college acceptance, but id rather go to a UC.

Did you only apply to UC’s?..
