Are you guys planning on dorming or commuting to UCI?

@lake

housing is the way to go dude.

@yheafreak How come? Just asking–I don’t know anything about living anywhere o_o

@anin

you go online and apply for housing. For UCI transfer students, housing is guaranteed.

The new UCI housing is friggin NICE! I visited vista a couple of times. UCI has really good housing.

I had 3.67 or 3.7… forget. had to do gpa calculation on my own because of an F i had ata different school. My IGETC and TAG was completed and I will have EVERY single prereq that is available at my community college for bio majors finished at my cc at the end of this semester…

Any Computer Science got accepted? I’m dying here :(

ACCEPTED into UCI!!

Major: Aerospace Engineering

NO TAG

3.52 GPA

SUPER PSYCHED even though I am no longer doing engineering nor do I want to go to UCI anymore but it still feels AWESOME!

So far, I’m accepted to: UCR(Neuroscience), UCI(Aerospace)

Waiting on: UCSD, UCSB, UCLA, UCBerkeley, UCDavis

:D :D

lmao is anyone here actually planning on going to UCI? I’ve just seen like 2 solid pages of “OH AWESOME! But I’m going to insert higher ranked UC here”

Oh it’s not about rankings for me. In terms of rankings, UCI is barely a few places away from most of the other UC’s (aside from UCLA and UC Berkeley). I just really like this one major UCSD, UCSC, UC Berkeley, and UCLA only offer and since I didn’t apply for UCSC(I’d rather go here than UCI), I’m looking forward to UCSD’s decision :)

Oh and I really wanna go to a residential campus. UCI has WAY too many commuters! Wouldn’t seem too fun going here…

@walleats how come you didnt tag? :O

@Raacheeel: I did a TAG for Physics but then 2 things happened:

I REALLY didn’t want to do Physics anymore and I was still really undecided on majors so I would wake up each day wanting to be a different major.

I visited UCI around the time, and I really didn’t like the school atmosphere too much. Just didn’t seem like a right fit so I thought, might as well apply for one of their hardest majors and if I get, then that would be AWESOME! haha

btw, Have you gotten your acceptance yet?

accepted

The housing at Irving in super nice, but it is also extremely expensive in my opinion. I was looking at the university aparments, Villa Del Sol etc but I just can’t afford it. I am probably going to buy a car and commute. Its about an hour away for me.

Accepted.

Major: Business Economics
GPA: 3.8
TAG: Yes
IGETC: Done by Spring
Applied: UCI, UCD, UCSD, UCSB, UCLA, Cal.
Accepted: UCI, UCSB
Pending: Everywhere else.

all those acceptance for electrical engineering are scaring me especially another round of acceptance going round. The closer to the April 30, the more i fee like I’ll get rejected. Ugh. i don’t really want to say at community college for four years and I already have everything done. Please God, any UC’s would be fine, just please accept me :).

@natjan

I’d think about the cost of gas per month (45miles each way and at worst 4 days/week), traffic, and lost study time before making the decision to commute. But to each their own.

Just got accepted into UCI :)

Biological Sciences
GPA: 3.93
Tagged, IGETC, missing 2nd semester ochem as major prep
Accepted into: UCR, UCI
Waiting on: UCLA, UCSD, UCB, UCD

Although this is a backup im still super happy~ now i can continue studying my ochem :)

Still no acceptance here bah!

Quick question: at this late of the stage, can we still change our major through UCI’s online application system?

Figure about $450 per month for a $200 car payment and 90 miles a day, four days a week at 25 MPG and $4/gal.

So, you’ll be paying $3600/year or so additional to avoid the lost time and convenience of living on-campus (assuming it costs $850/month to live on-campus).
