Uci acceptance

:(…sigh o.o

Just got ACCEPTED in to ECON with TAG.

@walleats haha wow congratulations! i stil pending -___- i’m TAG’d so my time will come

Accepted: Psychology and Social Behavior
GPA: 3.67
TAG: Yes UCI/UCD
Pre-Req’s: All Complete

Notes: I am an older student (25 to be exact). My first attempt at college was horrendous. My first two years in school were filled with F’s, not even W’s…But F’s. When I decided to go back (two years ago), I had to Academically-Renew the sub-par grades and retake what was leftover. After the AR was accepted I changed my behaviors and became the student that I knew I was. When I came back to school I went full-time for two years straight, including one class every Winter and Summer, basically starting all over again, and it has been a long road to get to this point. Forgive the “cliche-ness” of the statement when I say that if I can do it, anyone can. But it’s true…So good luck to anyone who is waiting to hear back! If you are in a similar situation that I was in many years ago, PM me for some advice. I will be glad to help!

Hmm did decisions only come out yesterday? Or this morning as well?

@JAYO Its funny that is exactly my story, I am 25 as well, psych major as well, and basically the same gpa. Congrats man. It’s been hard for me to maintain a positive attitude taking classes with a bunch of 18 year olds (no offense guys). I cannot wait to see my dreams come to fruition and get accepted!!

@Cactus

How has it been hard maintaining a positive attitude taking classes with 18yr olds? Unless you’re socially inept, it shouldn’t have been a problem at all. Maybe you should lower your nose a little bit broski…

I think you misunderstand. I had not been in school for close to 5 years prior to returning. What makes it challenging is that I feel bad (by comparison) being often the oldest in the class. It isn’t that I am socially inept or have my nose in the air, quite the opposite actually, if anything I feel badly about my situation and It is right in my face every time I go to class. Regardless I am happy to be hitting this milestone soon (I hope)!!

I know commuting sounds worse, but because of my financial situation, I really can’t afford 1000+ for bills including rent and my phone etc.

To lower my cost of living to something affordable I would have to room with 3+ students and I 1) don’t know anyone else living down there or that plans on moving and 2) I cannot handle living with terrible roomates again, ever. I have lived with terrible terrible people.

I figure if I got a studio it would be at least 1200 a month not counting living expenses like food and gas. The real decision maker is the amount of finanical aid I get, as that is all I have to support me.

I also don’t mind waking up early to miss traffic. I am still going to look around at places in other parts of Orange County though.

Got the acceptance email this morning at 3:00am!

Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.54
IGETC: Complete
Prereqs: Missing one physics class and one engineering class
Accepted into: UCR, UCI
Waiting on: UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCSB

@natjan
I live in Orange County. Irvine is expensive, but if your willing to live about 10 to 20 mins away from UCI, there are more affordable places.

@Hello
I was thinking about looking at Tustin and maybe Orange as well. I figured Costa Mesa would be way too expensive though I would love to live near a Native Foods haha.
It is hard also to make the decision because I do actually have a small part time job at a rock climbing gym that would help a little bit, and if I stayed up here in Rancho Cucamonga, I wouldn’t have to leave it and I would have that income. It is seriously a tough decision for me. If I knew another girl or two other girls that were normal and reliable, I would move to Irvine probably.

^^

LOL I used to live in Tustin for a few years, ahhh the memories…if you have questions about that area let me know…

EDIT: You should look at Aliso Viejo if you like to be near a Native Foods…but I think that might be a bit far from UCI

I live in Aliso Viejo. It is 10 min away from
UCI.
Those of you who have tag have all been admitted?
I am still pending, but I was not eligible for tag… Very very anxious…

admitted at 2 in the morning hahaha

any rejections?

@CrownoftheSea

I thought there wasn’t a TAG for Business Admin???

Yeah there isn’t, I put my tagged major as my alternate…but I contemplated on switching to a less impacted major and just pick up business econ as a 2nd major

Great so maybe there is still hope…
