<p>My (hopeful) theory on UCI admissions</p>
<p>In my opinion… I’m pretty sure they’ve already looked at almost *all of the applications. They’re most likely done with TAG apps and if there are any TAG students that haven’t found out, they probably overlooked a pre-req and it’s voided (so they’d be looked at as non-tag). All the rejections from the other day were students that probably “should” have been rejected (no offense to them) due to low GPA, missing stuff ETC. </p>
<p>For the people left, it’s either because we’re RIGHT at the cutoff or (for those who said they had like a 3.8), I would think you’re still waiting because A. you didn’t have TAG so you’re at the bottom of the pile B. they probably already admitted the target number of students into your major & backup.</p>
<p>They seemed to be rolling admissions the other day also… which would lead me to believe that they’ve taken a break from posting admissions statuses for the time being. If I were to take an educated guess, I THINK that they’re waiting to see how many people SIR or decline their admission after Cal (when most people have found out where they’re going) or around the 30th. It seems like the reason they extended the date last year wasn’t really because they needed time to finish the apps, it’s because they wanted to wait a couple days after they found out a number of people that chose another school. I mean, come on, the person who was admitted on the 5th last year? Though I’m sure they were backed up, they had PLENTY of time to look at a few remaining applications. It’s because they were waiting to see how the number of admitted students panned out.</p>

Unfortunately I absolutely agree with you
If you take a good look you will see that most of the people who were admitted after April 30th were transferring from a 4-year.
Nevertheless a lot of people DID get accepted…</p>
<p>Nothing for me so far. Ugh. I’m inclined to believe that I’m going to be rejected, since my GPA is somewhere between 2.8 and 3.0 and I don’t have my IGETC completed. Prereq’s not an issue though since I’m going into East Asian Cultures and I remember being told at the UCI Transfer Fair last year that majors going into the School of Humanities don’t need to complete prereqs before transferring, though.</p>

<p>I called them this am, and the UCI rep told me that they are in fact expecting to have ALL decisions out by this end of this weekend. And that yes, we should expect them to be released over the weekend even though so far all the decision were released during the week.</p>
