<p>but to no avail were there any changes.</p>
<p>The good thing about UCI is that they will email you if your application status has changed. So you don’t have to go and check it on a daily basis.</p>

<p>I have not gotten an email yet from UC Irvine that my status has changed it was a random check.</p>

<p>If your status has changed, they usually send out that email within 24 hours. I got the “your status has changed” when I got accepted in high school. My neighbor got accepted on the 2nd and his email came in the evening.</p>

<p>@saad: I think it lists on the website it states that they finish posting up new decisions at 9am, so that should give you a time window.</p>
<p>yeah I hope so! do you guys know if they release decisions by major, gpa, or anything like that or is it just random?</p>
<p>They usually just admit the regents scholars first. After that I THINK its random, but not 100% sure on that.</p>

<p>So, I noticed that #6 under the “Steps to Enrollment at a Glance” says take placement tests. Is it standard procedure to have to take placement tests upon admission to UC? Are the tests generic or are they specific to your major? I have never heard of this.</p>
