And yes people i knew got an email today around 8 am

@eugenekim90 I got an email saying my admission status has changed
@Mik194 No, you can’t tag Biz Admin so I tagged SD

Yay congrats! @werz2013

@Mik194 Thanks!! Was pretty surprised that it came so early.

I got in to UC Irvine!

3.83 GPA, philosophy major

All pre-reqs except for one completed.

This is great! Still waiting on UCSD, UCSB, UCLA, and Cal. Congrats to all who got in!

Just got in!

3.72 GPA, English

They told me I have to maintain a 3.7 average (■■■)

@cwalkercfli21 3.7 avg?!? that’s insane…

I called in to check and they confirmed it : ( Guess I will have no life until June…

Wait why 3.7? @cwalkercfli21

@cwalkercfli21 @Mik194

They told me to maintain a 3.7 avg GPA, too. I don’t really know why, but it seems that UCI wants its highest achieving admitted students to maintain a GPA not too much lower than their GPA at the time of admission. Perhaps those who were admitted with GPAs like 3.9 or 4.0 were told to maintain a 3.8 GPA while those with 3.4 or 3.3 GPAs were told to maintain a 3.0.

That makes sense! Thanks @Cayton

What would happen if you can’t maintain the GPA?! will they reject you automatically?! and I’m not talking about UCI, all UCs.

@bolandgoo - They can, but usually they won’t unless we are talking UCLA or Cal where it’s extremely filled.

For example if you are asked to get a 3.0 in Spring and you get a 2.8 for UCI likely they will keep you, but at UCB if you did that they are likely to withdraw your admission, same with UCLA except most of the time for UCLA they want you to get above a 3.0 In the spring and will state so in your acceptance.

wow! now I’m stressed out , I’m taking C++, calc 3 and diff equation this semester!!!
