***UCI APPLICANTS C/O 2023***

Thanks @honeytuts for sharing your information. It looks like the rolling comes to the end. I guess my D got rejected.

So we can all check tomorrow? (since they posted last year on Sunday)

At this point I’m probably going to just commit to UCSC!

Congrats to those who got in! I guess it’s over?

Just read the last year post for class 2022 it was around page 290’s (I can’t remember exact). It looks like rolling from Friday until Tuesday morning. It was Tuesday evening that waitlist starts to roll out. I saw last year Sunday people post accept around 7 am. This is all based on last year. I would log off this and go to sleep now and hope is in reach. Keep positive. Don’t assume the worst.

Did anyone get into poli sci yet? Plz post ur stats!!!

Are we basically rejected if we haven’t gotten an acceptance yet?

I’m afraid so, since most acceptances have been released, chances are the rest of us are either waitlisted or rejected.

I heard from last year’s form that they send out some early Monday morning

@dubbe408

Hi- found it! The post I read was #704… hope it’s OK to copy and quote here:

“Hey guys! Just got off the phone with UCI admissions. According to the speaker, admissions are completely random and come out in batches every weekday. By the end of next week, we should all have our decisions! This means that just because you didn’t get a decision today, does not mean ANYTHING! I hope this helps! I know the wait is terrible, but we got this! One more week!”

Let’s see if that’s the case

Thanks hopefully there’s some acceptances left @Napafolie

Anyone think batch coming out tomorrow?

@Sri12345 haven’t heard anything for poli sci yet

@sagh527 Damn man yea, let’s hope for the best!

@Sri12345 also waiting on poli sci

I’m waiting on poli sci as well

wow okay i guess poli sci decisions aren’t out?? i saw one person on here get in yesterday

I have ok stats and ECs and a really strong and motivating back story. My stats aren’t the top since I have a 31 ACT and 7 APS and 3 Bs in high school. A few that have read my personal insight responses have cried and said this is amazing or so powerful/unique — indeed i worked hard on them and was proud of my ultimate result. I am in state and live in OC, in a very top public high school… however I am not accepted anywhere. No UCs (only a few waitlists) and no OOS schools either. I looked back on my application today and I still don’t see any major flaws… i put everything out there including my family background/struggles and some really difficult things I faced but I was never negative. ever.
After seeing some of my classmates getting in with only 1 honor class in their 4 years of hs and 1100-1300 sat and (although just on the surface) doing drugs and smoking everyday… These people get in UCSD UCI and UCSB. I feel very depressed and discouraged. As if all my hard work was just thrown away like poof. This is one of the first times i am actually extremely negative about something and am thinking the worse.
UCI is my last hope. I know CC is an option but I had always envisioned myself in a 4 year college next semester. That is how I go through my family problems and as a victim of bullying.
I know that college admissions are unpredictable but I am feeling very anxious and disappointed at this moment.
Any one? Any thoughts?
I am so unsure how to feel. And any thoughts on taking a year off next year and re applying as a freshmen? I am a year younger than everyone else in my grade and unsure what to do…

@musiciangoaler I’m really touched by your story. You’ve clearly worked hard, and so just take a minute to congratulate yourself. As all college rejection letters say (though they hurt), your acceptance or rejection is not a reflection of your abilities.

I understand that you see yourself as a 4-year college student, but community college also has a lot of advantages. I have several extremely brilliant friends who could not afford or could not make it into a four-year college, so they took community college courses and were able to transfer into even better schools than they would have gotten into as a freshman applicant.

I wouldn’t recommend simply “taking a year off” unless you meant to do some kind of meaningful gap year program, such as gaining work experience, doing volunteer work, or going abroad. Even if you choose to reapply, colleges will be asking you what you’ve been doing during that break year.

Please don’t lose hope – take heart and don’t find your self-worth in college acceptances or rejections. I’m praying for you and your future!

@musiciangoaler Many of my friends don’t believe in gap years, but I personally think it’s a great opportunity to strengthen your resume as long as you remain productive and have a concrete plan/goal to work towards. It might make a great PIQ topic too! You know yourself the best. If this is something you feel comfortable and confident with, I say you should go ahead. Make sure you talk to your parents about it too so you can figure out the logistics of it all.
