@g4college14 : I am picking UCSC over UCSD!! UCSC is famous for their computer science AND astrophysics (that is why I picked UCSC) It is top 6 (beats Cornell and right behind UC Berkeley) It is known nationally for computer science and astrophysics. DO a research on it, it is really good. UCSC is really underrated :’( plus UCSC is in the top 10 the most beautiful campus

I’m actually considering UCSC pretty high on my list. I’m interested in bioinformatics/bioE, which UCSC is pretty strong in. The campus sounds gorgeous.

My decision is up – I was accepted!

@Steponme11: Underrated is the problem :(

Still no decision for me! Rejected from Davis, Waitlisted at SD, Accepted to SB.

yo quidditch chick where ya from and whats ur stats

I applied to a lot of schools. I think I’ll just mention the UCs because it’s the most relevant. Besides UCI, I was accepted to UC Riverside, UCSC, UC Davis, and UC Santa Barbara. I did not apply to UC Merced. I was rejected from UCSD.

@quidditchcat congrats!!
@g4college14 ikr! but it is still a good school <3

This experience has honestly been the most heart breaking thing ever. Like I’ve worked so hard the past 4 years and for none of it to pay off even the slightest bit is incredibly frustrating. It sucks because it’s not like I’m too stupid, I’m feel like I’m not getting in because no school wants ME. I don’t think I can handle another rejection letter. But looks like I’m going to have to considering uci is most likely saving rejections for last.

@4college14: My S also denied for CS from UCD/UCSB and UCSD. His GPA 3.73 and ACT 31. I agree, it looks like they are focusing on the GPA more the than test scores. I have seen several acceptance with 4.0+ GPA but below average test scores like 1670??? My S has already SIR’d at SDSU. He applied to the UC’s but not that interested. SLO was his #1 choice and denied there. I think he made the best choice. Good Luck to you and I hope you get UCI.

@ivysunshine Don’t worry, you’ll get accepted to wherever you’re meant to be. It may seem hard now, but next year you will be so happy with where you are. I’m praying that you get accepted to UCI!

Everyone, don’t lose hope.

To be honest, I thought I wouldn’t get in because my stats are really low. However, I just found out that I got in!

3.48 UW GPA, 4.3W GPA (didn’t calculate UC).
1800 SAT. Didn’t take SAT II.
EC’s: Played sports, played an instrument. In a range of clubs. Over ten leadership positions (including one nationwide leadership position). Over 500 hours of community service.
Major: Economics
OOS.

no decision for me yet and it’s killing me! ;_; i got into UCR and Cal State Fullerton already a while ago, but just got hit hard with two rejections from UCD and UCSD this weekend. C’mon UCI, come thru! :(

@shinyum Thank you. :)

@ivysunshine I feel you man. I expected to get at least waitlisted by the schools I’ve gotten rejected to. Nearly all of my CS major friends and I (CS major too) have been rejected to nearly every single UC. All that work for nothing…

I got denied at SLO and SJSU didn’t give me CS major but accepted me as undeclared major. That was very demotivating since I had used the eligibility index on SJSU website and has calculated and considered myself above the cutoff score.I am a Santa Clara resident and that should have given me some advantage, but looks like it didnt. Since I got in at UCR and UCSC I am not thinking too much about SJSU now. But I do really hope I get into UCI. Good luck to your S @Gumbymom

God I hope they send more acceptances soon

Since they only send one batch a day I assuming that we’ll all have to wait until tomorrow ~X(

damn that’s a long wait lol
