Not true this year because my daughter’s friends and several other people were rejected on Friday, the first day.
Not trying to disappoint anyone but I think the Acceptance/Waitlist/rejection waves may actually be a thing. On Friday everyone was saying they got accepted at like 7 est and I had nothing until 8:15 and I was waitlisted and so were other students who got it late like me.
So far from reading this thread, only one wave of admissions on Friday that was completed. I personally know friends who were accepted, waitlisted, and rejected on Friday, all for different majors. At this point I believe they are just randomly choosing acceptances, waitlists, and rejections on separate days until March 31.
so far only one wave of admissions happened. i have many friends last year who got accepted in the last few days of March. A lot of people have not been given decisions, so I dont think UCI would make their class of 2024 that small
There’s no point in doing it in the accepted/waitlist/rejection order. Why make people wait if they know what their decision will be? If you read past comments, multiple people have received acceptances, waitlists, AND rejections from Friday. One person even contacted an admissions counselor and they said that people are selected randomly to receive their decision. Some people from previous years have received their acceptances literally in the last 3 days of March. Please do not spread negative beliefs and keep your head up! Some of my friends already got accepted on Friday (one for biological sciences and another related to marine bio) and both had GPAs below a 4.0 and an sat in the 1200’s!! You guys got this!!
I did the same today and she said “They are release in a rolling basis that is not specific” so it means that they are doing away with their traditional A/W/R wave. And it is random this year and a mix of all three we still have hope everyone!
I’m still waiting for my Business Admin/ Business Econ decision ?
My stats are 1260 sat, 3.78 unweighted and 4.03 weighted GPA. I have lots of extracurriculars, grueling work experience, and leadership positions. I hope I know soon!
I wonder why they say rolling admissions, but stop for three days.
Can anyone offer insight into how good CHP is? I know the priority enrollment is supposed to be really nice, but I hear a lot of people drop out of it because of the various requirements. Any insight is appreciated thanks
@zoomtransfer123 she got her UCI waitlist 3/20, same evening as UCLA acceptance. Sorry if I confused anyone.
@kaitlynn19 that’s what I thought too because shouldn’t they have like an automated system for decisions?
I was accepted in February
Accepted w/ regents
UC GPA: 4.04
ACT: 30
@kaitlynn19 Even with an automated system, UCI needs to send congratulations emails to accepted ppl and regular emails for everyone else. Maybe due to some issue in their office (possibly from coronavirus) they have halted admissions decisions release temporarily.
@clamaye I applied and got accepted during Friday’s wave for business econ with a 1180 SAT and 4.74 W/ 3.93 NW GPA. Best of luck!!!
Damn still no admission decision!
@user243523 do you know anyone else who got accepted to business econ?
Since we know now that decisions are not released by major can people quit asking if a certain major has heard back? You can literally go through the threads and check but when you ask it’s getting redundant and hard for others to see the valuable information posted.
literally just made an acc to say my UCI portal looks different now ?? it’s completely missing the whole “thank you for applying to UCI” part, hoping this means another wave is coming out today but it might just be a glitch too
mines still the same
