@ren002 I see the same portal change as well. Hopefully that is a sign of an impending decision today.
For me portalās still the same.
mine is also the sameā¦it was probably just a glitch for you guysā¦it doesnāt mean anythingā¦the decision will come when they send it
how did your portal change? perhaps that signals the second wave?
mine also changed, now when I log in, in the space where it would say āthank you for applyingā and everything under that is gone. Itās just a blank space under my application ID / email and stuff.
No change to portal.
itās a blank space when i change to myhome
@user32tik2332 same here but otherwise, my portal still has everything under the thank you for applying section. I thought they had already fixed the myhome glitch??
The myhome glitch was patched like a day ago, so thereās a blank space under Home for everyone. What I donāt understand, and Iām hoping @soco48 could clarify, is whether the entire page is blank under email, as in thereās no āHomeā, āMy Informationā, āScholarshipsā, āAcademicsā, and āFAQsā buttons.
@zoomtransfer123 i think @soco48 said that everything under their application ID and name is gone.
Iāll just describe exactly what im seeing. It sayās āwelcome nameā and then under says my application level, application term, UC application ID, UCI Student ID, and my email. After that there is nothing, it is completely blank until I scroll all the way to the bottom and thereās that bar that says visit, apply, contact us, ici homepage etc. On the right side I still have the freshmen application deadlines box, the reporting changes box, and the account tools box. I hope that wasnāt too confusing and kind of clarifies what Iām seeing, I wish I could just show you guys aha
my portal still looks the same. i hope that it is just a glitch and isnāt a sign that those with portal changes got accepted or something
if UCI cud just update us somehow and not leave everyone in the dark >:(
@soco48 Thatās very interesting because I thought what you were seeing is āmyhomeā patch that UCI put (which is the same patch for anyone using myhome url). This is a brand NEW glitch lol, and I honestly donāt know what to think at this point. Very, very frustrating we didnāt get a single mail from admissions office on when the rest of the decisions come out and the fact that the first wave was 4 days ago!
just to confirm, thereās only been 1 wave so far on Friday?
Yeah, just one wave of acceptances, waitlists, and rejections.
well, regardless of whatever this glitch means or doesnāt mean, I will let you guys know if there is any change or if I do indeed get a decision, but for now, we wait, and my portal remains the same (it still has the glitch).
I agree that they should just let all the kids know in one go like some of the other UC campuses. Thereās no reason why they canāt - the other campuses that do it have proven that it can be done.
Same thing happened to my daughter last year. She was the last one of all her friends to hear and although she was eventually accepted, a big part of her decision not to attend was down to the way they released the decisions. To her it showed a lack of understanding on the universityās part about the emotional toll this kind of approach takes on already stressed out kids. Itās unnecessary and very unfair on those kids who will be receiving rejections. There will be so many other opportunities throughout their college career that they will get to learn life lessons about waiting and dealing with rejection, I truly believe this doesnāt need to be one.
It left her with little confidence that she would be supported in other areas once on campus, so therefore decided to reject her acceptance.
@scratchy903 was your daughter part of the later waves to get her acceptance? also i agree: if UCI wasnāt my only choice, I would not go here due to the lack of understanding and diligence they are showing through admissions. the emotional stress is really overwhelming.
The current āglitchā could also be browser/computer specific, because the description seems to have most of the same info, but just in different places.
